Elon Musk Opens Up About His Mental Health On Twitter, Saying He Might Be Bipolar

Elon Musk is a billionaire and an entrepreneur who is admired by everyone, founder and CEO of world-changing companies like Tesla and SpaceX, and is even dating Amber Heard.

It's a good life, but not at all an easy one.

Cheeky

A post shared by Amber Heard (@amberheard) on Apr 23, 2017 at 5:11pm PDT

A couple of days ago, Elon Musk tweeted about how his life is not all fun and games, like his social media accounts would suggest.

Replying to a tweet about his ‘amazing life', Musk tweeted about how along with ‘great highs', there are ‘terrible lows' and ‘unrelenting stress' as well.

The reality is great highs, terrible lows and unrelenting stress. Don't think people want to hear about the last two.
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) July 30, 2017
Then, he was asked if he was bipolar, and he just replied with a simple ‘yeah'.

Yeah
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) July 30, 2017
But then he backtracked a bit, saying he's not “medically” affected by mental illness.

Maybe not medically tho. Dunno. Bad feelings correlate to bad events, so maybe real problem is getting carried away in what I sign up for.
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) July 30, 2017
Someone also told him that it would be very helpful to a lot of people if he talked about how he deals with the stress.

I'm sure there are better answers than what I do, which is just take the pain and make sure you really care about what you're doing
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) July 30, 2017
The stigma against mental illness is slowly, but surely diminishing but, it seems like there's still a long way to go. However, when people like Elon Musk come out and admit it, it does start a conversation about it, which is incredibly important and significant.
