Despite Heading Towards Rs 200 Cr, Pawan Kalyan's 'Bheemla Nayak' Reportedly Suffers Loss

Pawan Kalyan’s latest release Bheemla Nayak co-starring Rana Daggubati is an official Telugu remake of 2020 Malayalam film Ayyappanum Koshiyum.

Just like most of Pawan Kalyan’s films, Bheemla Nayak took a record opening at the box office and unlike his releases in the recent past, it also sustained well over the next few days.

Its opening day was even higher than Allu Arjun's latest blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise in Telugu states.

According to trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan, Bheemla Nayak is now heading towards the Rs 200 crore mark at the worldwide box office. The film has so far earned Rs 183.22 crore globally.

Despite inching closer to Rs 200 crore mark, the Pawan Kalyan starrer is expected to end with losses in the range of Rs 12 - 15 crore, according to Mirchi 9

The loss it has suffered is in the Telugu states, mainly in Andhra Pradesh and the reason has nothing to do with the merits of the film but due to the ongoing Andhra Pradesh government ticket rates issue.

In week one of its release, Bheemla Nayak collected Rs 170.74 crore. At its second weekend, the Pawan Kalyan starrer made an additional Rs 12.48 crore.

Sharing its box office worldwide numbers, Vijayabalan wrote, “#BheemlaNayak WW Box Office Week 1 - ₹ 170.74 cr

Week 2 Day 1 - ₹ 3.38 cr Day 2 - ₹ 4.23 cr Day 3 - ₹ 4.87 cr Total - ₹ 183.22 cr”.

Earlier, Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa: The Rise too had lost money in Telugu states despite taking the country by storm with its Hindi dubbed version.

Reportedly, the makers had to refund Rs 8 crore to regions like UA, East and Guntur.

Directed by Saagar K Chandra, Bheemla Nayak also stars Nithya Menen, Samyuktha Menon and Murali Sharma.

There were also reports that the Hindi version will be releasing soon and a trailer was also released but no release date has been announced yet.
