The Indian satire and comedy website ‘Unreal Times’ that has been making all of laugh for five years is now allegedly shutting down. Formed in the year 2011, the parody website has been providing us with mockery of latest news, politics and governments decisions and to be honest, their take has always been hilarious. For instance when the government announced the Direct Cash Transfer scheme, the founders CS Krishna and Karthik Laxman, had written in an article called ‘Government mulls direct cash transfers by dropping money bags from the sky’.

@TheUnRealTimes Oho. That's sad. Just read your post, and yes, I went and bought the book. :)

The ‘Unreal Times’ became popular really quickly and is followed by many celebrities as well as politicians on social media. They have given us many cult articles and will always remain etched in our minds and one of the most ‘deep and yet hilarious’ websites. Their first book was released in 2014, named ‘Unreal Elections’, written by, Krishna and Lakshman. It is a satirical book, published by Penguin Random House.

While writing an article about the closure of their website, using the pen name ‘Unreal Mama’, they said- “Regardless of how you might react to this announcement, on behalf of all our writers, we would like to tell you folks that it has been a privilege entertaining you, making you smile and once in a while, making you go ‘Dawg, that’s deep’. For over five years we did this, and boy, did we have a ball! “

We wish the guys at the ‘Unreal Times’ the best of luck in the future. We have all been thoroughly entertained all these years.
