After suffering a 1-3 loss in the first-leg of the Spanish Super Cup final, Lionel Messi and Barcelona were in for more despair as the Catalans failed to cut down the deficit in the second-leg, losing the match 0-2 and the title 1-5 (on aggregate).
Barcelona were swept aside by a rampant Real Madrid side with goals from Marco Asensio and Karim Benzema, securing Zinedine Zidane's seventh major trophy as manager. If humiliating their arch-rivals with a resounding 5-1 aggregate victory wasn't enough, Real captain Sergio Ramos decided to wind up Barcelona talisman Messi for good measure.
With time ticking away in the match, Messi was eager to make every single second count when he attempted to get the ball off Ramos in a bid to take a quick free-kick. With Ramos offering the ball to Messi, the Argentine's hopes of a quick free-kick almost came true until the Real defender chucked it in the air to the sheer displeasure of the Barca forward.
Made to look like a complete fool, the usually mild-mannered Messi reacted by calling Ramos a "mother f*****".
