ISLAMABAD: MNA Ayesha Gulalai has alleged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairperson Imran Khan of using marriage as an election stunt, saying the party chief had announced of getting married after the polls.
The MNA launched into a tirade against Imran and other PTI leaders while speaking in the National Assembly hall on Monday. She said Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Jahangir Tareen call women their sisters and daughters but take them to Imran?s public gatherings.
She also raised objections over her case being compared to Monica Lewinsky?s scandal, saying it was a shameful act to draw an analogy between Lewinsky?s and case of the daughters of Pakistan. The name of Lewinsky, a former intern at the White House, came to the fore after a scandal surfaced of her alleged relationship with Former president of United States Bill Clinton.
Gulalai, who has been wearing a turban to the assembly session, has accused Imran and PTI?s Naeem-ul-Haq of sending her inappropriate text messages. The issue was raised at a time when Nawaz Sharif, the former prime minister, was disqualified by the Supreme Court over the Panama case filed by Imran, among others. Subsequently, Gulalai came under attack by some quarters who claimed she was backed by PML-N leaders. Β
