ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Najam Sethi on Thursday said that Director International Cricket Council (ICC) Giles Clarke has an important role in World XI's tour of the country.

During his appearance on Geo News program 'Capital Talk', Sethi said that security arrangements made by Pakistan convinced the international players to visit the country.

"From day one, we were trying to bring top international players to Pakistan," Sethi said, adding that five South African players will be part of the visiting World XI side.

The PCB chairman, however, said that the international community at present is not willing to visit Karachi.

Former cricketer Ramiz Raja said the recent performance by the Pakistan side also put pressure on anΒ international level, adding that the nation is a big fan of cricket.

Former pacer Shoaib Akhtar said he wanted to thank all the players coming to Pakistan.
