Hussain Haqqani ?authored? Trump?s realignment policy: foreign minister

Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif tweeted on Thursday that former ambassador to the United States (US), Hussain Haqqani has authored the US policy announced by President Trump.
He also said that former president Asif Ali Zardari should ?rein in? Hussain Haqqani.
In a tweet, Asif said "President Zardari instead of criticising [the] government, [should] rein in Haqqani his ambassador to US, taking credit of authoring US policy President Trump announced."
Asif?s tweet comes in response to US?s realignment policy. Early Tuesday morning, US President Donald Trump cleared the way for the deployment of thousands more US troops to Afghanistan Monday, backtracking from his promise to rapidly end America´s longest war, while pillorying ally Pakistan for offering safe haven to "agents of chaos."
"We have been paying Pakistan billions and billions of dollars at the same time they are housing the very terrorists that we are fighting," said Trump, warning that vital aid could be cut. ?That will have to change and that will change immediately."
Ahead of the speech, Pakistan´s military had brushed off speculation that Trump could signal a stronger line against Islamabad, insisting the country has done all it can to tackle militancy.
Earlier in the day, Asif rejected US President Donald Trump's allegations stating that Islamabad has backed all international efforts for a peaceful Afghanistan.
Giving a policy statement in the Senate following Trump's announcement of new regional policy, the minister denied the allegations of destabilisation of Afghanistan by Pakistan.
