LAHORE: Begum Kulsoom Nawaz will win a clear majority in the NA-120 by-elections, claimed Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Maryam Nawaz on Monday.
While addressing the female workers of PML-N during a meeting, Maryam said the campaigns for NA-120 should be expedited. She also told the participants Kulsoom Nawaz will be among them soon.
Maryam was chairing a meeting in Model Town regarding campaigns for NA-120.
She kicked-off the campaigns in late August, which her mother Kulsoom Nawaz was unable to participate in.
Kulsoom Nawaz was diagnosed with throat cancer after she reached London. She had left when her nomination papers for the by-election were to be scrutinised by the Election Commission of Pakistan.
However, after successful recovery from the surgery for the lymphoma she was diagnosed with, Kulsoom Nawaz is said to be recovering.
The seat of NA-120 fell vacant after Nawaz was disqualified by the Supreme Court in the Panama Leaks case on July 28 on charges of concealing his salary from a Dubai-based company that he claims he never received.
