If there was ever to be an epitome for “hold my beer” meme, we think President Donald Trump would perfectly fit the bill. This man does not need anyone to spark controversy as he alone can take the whole world by storm, and he's quite good at that, actually. However, this time around it was his daughter Ivanka who became the center of attraction, thanks to Trump's statement that is still playing in all our minds. On his trip to North Dakota, Trump invited Ivanka on stage and while introducing her to the crowd, he said “Sometimes they'll say, you know, he can't be that bad a guy – look at Ivanka. By the way, Ivanka Trump? Everybody loves you. Come on, should I bring Ivanka up?”
You must be wondering what's wrong in that. Well, here comes the weird part. While saying how Ivanka had asked if she could join him on the trip, he said, “She's so good, she wanted to make the trip, she said ‘Dad can I go with you?' she actually said ‘Daddy can I go with you?' I like that. I said, ‘Yes, you can.'”
This ‘Daddy' moment did not go unnoticed and soon the whole world started talking about it. We were curious as to why people though it was weird for a 35-year-old woman to call her father ‘Daddy' and why they're making such a hue and cry over this. So we dug out some information and honestly, we are completely freaked out by what we found.
To begin with, we all are aware about the unsettling comments Trump has made in the past. But, it looks like there's more to it than what meets the eye. In his earlier interviews, he didn't leave any stone unturned in objectifying his own daughter. In the year 2006, in an interview with Howard Stern, Trump apparently called Ivanka ‘voluptuous' but things just didn't end there. During an appearance on the show ‘The View' in 2006 Trump made an incestuous statement where he said “If Ivanka weren't my daughter, perhaps I would be dating her.” Yes, you read this right and here's a small clip of that interview where he said those infamous words.
In the year 2013, he casually cracked a really inappropriate joke about Ivanka on The Wendy Williams Show. When Williams asked what's the one thing Ivanka and her father have in common, while she said “Either real estate or golf”, Trump had a completely unexpected answer. He said, “Well, I was going to say ***, but I can't relate that to her.”
In fact, in 2004 while having a chat with Howard Stern, Trump allowed him to call Ivanka “A piece of a**” and went on to suggest how voluptuous Ivanka is. In 2015, in an interview with Rolling Stone Trump had said “Yeah, she's really something, and what a beauty, that one. If I weren't happily married and, ya know, her father…”
Well, clearly all these past comments are more than enough to cringe us, and Twitter isn't feeling any different either. Twitter was short of words for this ‘Daddy' moment, but their reactions couldn't have been any better.

But, if there's anyone who brutally summed up Trump's awkward ‘Daddy' moment and his foolish comparison of Hurricane Harvey and the drought in North Dakota, it's none other than Stephen Colbert. On ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert', he hit the nail right on its head and hilariously clarified why it's not weird at all because, “All of Trump's advisors call him Daddy. Sean Spicer was actually the one who started it.”
