LAHORE: International Cricket Council (ICC) Chief Executive Officer, David Richardson announced the possibility of ICC tournaments being organised in Pakistan in the near future.

Speaking at a press conference along with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Najam Sethi, Richardson said: ?If things go like this then ICC events can be played in Pakistan.?

He said that the ICC is doing what it can to assist Pakistan in these difficult times and help their cricket survive in these times.

The ICC chief said security teams are satisfied with arrangements in Lahore, adding that the security situation in Pakistan has improved. ?PCB, Pakistan?s security agencies deserve praise,? he said.Β

?I think the next step is to grow and improve the capability in cities outside Lahore and build the confidence in teams like Australia and England to visit Pakistan, in fact, all the cricket teams.? the ICC CEO said.

Responding to a question, Richardson said it is a wrong perception that ICC favours India more than Pakistan.

"India is a very powerful cricketing country so it has a very strong voice at the ICC. But the fact remains that we have 12 members, and India doesn't have any more voice than any other member."

He added that the current circumstances between India and Pakistan are more driven by the political circumstances.

Meanwhile, Sethi said that the PCB officials had meetings with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officials and now the board is consulting with lawyers and recording statements before taking the Indian board to court over violation of MoU for cricket series. Β Β

"We've already written a letter to ICC for a 3-member board that'll look into the matter," he added.
