Being on the job hunt is probably the most challenging aspect of every individual's life. Right after college, we begin to formulate a process when it comes to seeking employment. Now while some have their lucky cards decked up and find themselves making easy entries, there are some of those who have to rely solely on their skills to make the organisation believe that they are valuable, indispensable and different.

Everyone has the same pre-discussed, expected set of answers when asked as to what sets them apart from the others. Here are 5 characteristics, which by merging into your daily routine, has the power to make you a better candidate as well a better human, making you the ideal employee.

1. Be a person who wants more out of a job than just a paycheck

Become someone that brings a positive change or positively impacts your surroundings. Besides a team player, every company looks for a person who can bring about optimistic and constructive modification to the work place. Once you realise the change you are making in your environment, you will find yourself looking forward to working everyday.

2.  Try and find a job you love then it won't be 'work' anymore

This is the most basic element when it comes to looking for a job. You must have seen some of your unfortunate friends moaning about how they dread going to work, while there are some who keep chanting that they love their job. This drastic difference comes only when you are doing something you genuinely love and care about.

3. Have respect for everyone, practice persistence, perseverance, and integrity

The Internet is buzzing with these words. So, I am not going to annoy you again giving their illustrations on the importance of such things in life. Life is a better teacher than anyone. Keep doing the good work, do not cheat anyone, try to remain optimistic and as well as learn from other experiences. That's about it. You will be do fine. 

4. Work hard, dream big but also have fun

Being a workaholic is a double-edged sword. Everyone likes a hardworking person but when you come across as a closed worker, impervious to everyone and the office culture…it sends across a negative vibe.

5. Be the person who loves to learn and is also not afraid to ask questions

Smart people often join a place only if they think they will have a strong opportunity to learn a lot, or if not at least earn a hell lot of money. If by God's grace both aspects land in your pocket, then it could become a life-changing knock on the door. 

So choose wisely and work on yourself focusing around these characteristics and watch how the tables turn in your favour.
