The Best Fat Loss Superfoods You Are Not Eating

You must have seen one of those lists of superfoods that shows up on your feed every now and then? Of course, you have. Everybody just loves to read such lists. Superfoods are supposedly a few rare foods that are supposed to be better than all other foods. From making you healthy and saving you from countless diseases as well as burning fat and getting you jacked in no time at all. These superfoods are clearly showcased as the way to every physical improvement one desires.

Here, I give you the ultimate list of the 'TOP FIVE' absolute best, most amazing, most beneficial, most effective, most important, most healthy and of course, most 'super' superfoods in the entirety of nutrition science. These foods help fat loss and gain muscle and make you fly while shooting laser beams from your eyes. The list goes like this-

1. There

2. Are

3. No

4. Super

5. Foods

Confused?

That was not what you were expecting, right?  Wonder why? Well, because the term superfood is absolute bullshit. There is no such thing as a 'superfood'. Absolutely nothing like that!

According to reality, science and common sense -

. There is no single food that will cause you to lose fat.

. There is no single food that will prevent you from gaining fat.

. There is no single food that will cause you to build muscle.

. There is no single food that will make you healthy.

. There is no single food that will prevent or cure a disease.

You can eat all the 'superfoods' listed in articles authored by chubby dieticians and so called detox 'gurus' and you would not change as you wanted to in the first place.

But How Could This Be?

Because a 'superfood' by definition, does not actually exist! It isn't a scientific or nutritional term. It's a marketing term. It's only aim is to get your attention so that you'll click through to a website, read an article, open an email, buy a magazine, buy a product and hence  help the seller in making him money.

Let's Take A Look At The Biggest And The Most Stupid Claimed Benefits Of Various Supposed Superfoods.

1. Fat Burning Properties

THE ONLY WAY TO LOSE FAT IS SUSTAINED CALORIC DEFICIT, period. There is no other way whatsoever. Consume fewer calories than your body requires maintaining its current weight and your stored body fat will be burned as fuel. So no matter what the foods on these lists claim, none of them will EVER burn any sort of fat. Here is a case study of a man who ate just protein powder and ice cream for 100 days straight and lost 32 lbs.

Now does this make ice cream a superfood? No. Hell no. What he did was that he created a calorie deficit.  So yes, you can literally eat a diet comprised almost entirely of junk food and you'd still lose weight just fine as long as you are in caloric deficit, although it is not recommended.  A good way to go about would be that 80 % of the calories come from whole natural food sources and the rest 20% could be the foods you enjoy.

2. It Builds Muscle

Umm… unless that superfood is a shot of 600 mg testosterone, it will do nothing. As we established above, the only way to lose fat is caloric deficit. Likewise, the only way to build muscle is a caloric surplus. There are three things that need to be in place for your body to build muscle effectively- a caloric surplus, adequate protein and a workout program planned with progressive overload. Without any of these three and not some magical herb or food, building muscle effectively is not possible.

3. They Are Healthy & Have 'Detoxing' Properties

This has to be the biggest selling point for these sort of claims. “Food xyz is the healthiest in the world and detoxes your system. It contains xyz vitamins and minerals and antioxidants” and what not. Firstly, there's no doubting that many of the foods on these types of lists are healthy when looked at as a single food standing on its own. The problem, however, is that the nutritional content of a single food is meaningless when looked at in the context of someone's overall diet.  Do you think adding a single “superfood” would make any difference to that person's health or body composition, other than perhaps making this person falsely believe they did something that improved their diet which they didn't? Also claiming that a food contains a large quantity of nutrients makes it a superfood is absurd.

Yes, those foods might contain nutrients but so do a hundred other foods and thousands of combinations of other foods. In the context of someone's overall diet, there is no single food that can make someone healthy or unhealthy, even if that food has 'healthy' or 'unhealthy' nutritional properties.

Why You Are Still Overweight

You can have spinach and kale smoothies every day and still be an overweight person with diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol, or you can eat ice cream every day while losing 32 lbs while improving health markers as shown in the link attached above. So in the grand scheme of things, it's the overall diet that matters, not some fancy ass, exotic sounding food item.

Hence, don't get fooled by some fool who thinks eating blueberries will somehow make you healthier without doing anything else.
