KARACHI: Sindh Law Minister Zia-ul Hassan Nijar said on Sunday that the provincial government will write a letter to the federal government for replacing Inspector General of Police Sindh AD Khawaja.
The Sindh law minister was speaking to media, where he said that the provincial government is viewing the matter in view of the court?s deadline.
The Sindh government will write a letter within two days, nominating Grade 22 officer Abdul Majeed Dasti.
He said that at the time, two officers of Grade 22 and having service of three years.
The Sindh government has increased efforts to replace the existing IG Sindh. Earlier on Saturday, Secretary Services Sindh recommended that Sardar Muhammad Dasti should replace AD Khawaja.
The recommendation came during a session of the Sindh cabinet presided by Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah.
AD Khawaja in his defense recommended that a police officer should not be transferred before the end of tenure without substantial grounds.
He maintained that the police chiefs for other provinces, except Punjab, are also Grade-21 officers. He added that the Punjab IG was promoted to Grade 22 after being appointed as the province's top cop.
