RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Army's director general of military operations on Monday contacted his Indian counterpart and protested recent tagetting of civilians along the Line of Control (LoC), said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The DGMO conveyed that Indian troops are "deliberately targetting innocent civilians including children and said that such deliberate actions are serious concern and violation of 2003 agreement".

Pakistan Army's DGMO clarified, when it was alleged by the Indian army's official that Pakistani troops had targetted civilians, that "Pakistan considers people living across LoC as our brethren and Pakistan Army as a professional force has never done this".

Earlier on October 27, an Indian spy drone spying across the Line of Control (LoC) was shot down by Pakistan Army.

The drone was shot down in the Rakhchikri sector of the LoC and the wreckage has been recovered by the Army.

Pakistan also had summoned the Indian deputy high commissioner to record a protest over a border violation which resulted in the deaths of two civilians.

Tensions along the LoC have significantly increased after the right-wing government of Narendra Modi came to power in India.

Firing across the LoC has become a regular practice by Indian troops and has inflicted material and human losses on the Pakistani side of the border.
