While the fear of football hooliganism has often served as a threat to premier football tournaments, the security agencies responsible for safeguarding the 2018 FIFA World Cup have found a problem to deal with ever since the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) began rolling out graphic threats against the coveted event.

The notorious terror group has threatened to disrupt one of the biggest sporting events on the planet when Russia plays host in 2018. While many believe the warnings are nothing more than a hoax, the usage of the photographs of premier footballers in ISIS' threat posters has undoubtedly got social media buzzing.

After using Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin as pawns in their posters, ISIS had sent shockwaves around the football fraternity with a chilling poster of Lionel Messi mocked up in a prison outfit, behind bars, and with blood dripping from his eye.

They also delivered a message in the post which read: "You are fighting a state that does not have failure in its dictionary". The poster also carried Nike's famous tagline 'Just Do It' which was moulded into 'Just Terrorism' to suit their cause.

Continuing the trend of using the imagery of footballers in an attempt to terrorise the World Cup, ISIS have now come up with fresh posters featuring Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo depicting the same threat.

The poster featuring the Portugal captain shows him on his knees while a masked terrorist wields a knife in what appears to be a possible case of beheading. The poster also carried a message: "Our words are what you see not what you hear. So just you wait, we are waiting too".

On the other hand, the one featuring Neymar shows the Brazilian star on his knees crying while the beheaded body of Messi lies next to him. Similar to their posters earlier, this one too carried a chilling warning: "You will not enjoy security until we live it in Muslim countries".

Furthermore, the photograph of French coach Didier Deschamps has also been used in their propaganda where he has been depicted as an 'enemy of Allah' with France as one particular nation which has seen as increase of terrorism activity in recent times.
