CHITRAL: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairperson Imran Khan has vowed to not let development funds flow into the hands of MNAs and MPAs if and when his party comes to power in the Centre.

While addressing the public in Chitral?s polo ground, Imran alleged Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had given Rs94 billion to the MNAs of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz. He added world over the job of MNAs and MPAs is not make laws, not to be involved in development funds.

Imran said lives of people could only be improved if a local government system functions well. He added the local government leaders are among the people who elect them and thus are also able to reach to the grassroots.Β Β

About coming into power in the Centre, Imran said his government would impose four emergencies, first being of education. Although Imran lauded the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governments work in the field of education, the province still has ghost schools and issues of teachers? attendance ? just like in other parts of the country ? despite PTI-led KP government imposing education emergency in the province.

The second emergency, Imran said, would be of the environment, He added environment has been polluted a great deal. Around 200 billion trees were cut down during the tenure of Awami National Party and Pakistan Peoples Party, the PTI chief said.Β

The third emergency would be imposed to eradicate corruption from the country and rid it of the loans, the PTI chief said. The burden of debts has caused an increase in taxes, due to which poor were becoming poorer, Imran added. He vowed that his party-led government will not increase prices. The fourth emergency on his list is to streamline administrative affairs in the country, Imran added.Β Β

The party chief was accompanied by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and other party leaders.

Addressing the public, Khattak spoke about the incumbent leaders and the accountability proceedings being held against them.

The KP chief minister said thieves were being tried for accountability in Pakistan.

He added the incumbent leaders are the ones who do not even prefer being medically treated in their own country. Khattak was referring to PPP?s Dr Asim, Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar, PML-N leader Kulsoom Nawaz and Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Dar is currently in the United Kingdom to get treatment for a heart ailment, while PML-N leader elected from NA-120, Kulsoom Nawaz, is also there for cancer treatment.Β

Khattak added world over leaders progress by putting their country on the path of progress, but rulers in Pakistan have only hoarded money.Β

Strict security was in place to ensure theΒ safety of the participants at Chitral's polo ground.
