Comedian Larry Wilmore recently spoke of the need for men ?doing better? with regard to women when it comes to sexual abuse and misconduct in every aspect of life.

Wilmore, who was hosting the Hall of Fame induction event for the Television Academy in Los Angeles, addressed men in a very crisp and direct manner, cutting out excuses and indifference.

?I want to say, ?We have to do better, okay? We have to do it yesterday,'? he said, according to Variety, emphasizing on how it doesn?t just entail patiently sitting and reading tonnes of allegations unravel or saying ?these monsters are horrible?, but being ?woke allies?.

The comedian-cum-writer then went on to explain what he meant by the ?woke? comment.

?Being a woke allies requires open eyes, active ears, a full heart, and a righteous resistance to a toxic patriarchal murmur that often we, as men, overlook or disregard, because we never get punished by it.?

?You don?t have to have a daughter, or a sister, or a wife to be empathetic to this cause. [?] We?re a group that tells stories ? that?s what we do, that?s what we give to the world: our stories. Now, it?s time for us to change our story.?

Wilmore is known for his outspoken remarks, as well as his controversial speech at the White House Correspondents? Dinner back in April 2016 ? which the then-President Barack Obama ?appreciated?.
