Supermodel Amit Ranjan — a lean-mean-romantic with long locks and a groomed-to-perfection beard — has been modelling for over a decade now. Whether it's showcasing his editorial excellence on the pages of top Indian magazines, or seamlessly gliding down the ramp — Mr. Ranjan can do it all—and make it seem effortlessly cool. Like for our #30Days30Beards shoot, where he channeled his inner dandy in a three-piece maroon suit paired with a vintage-y floral shirt. A look we would kill to wear. But I digress. We are here to talk about his beard and his grooming know-how.

Beards are for legends. Some of the most iconic men in world history have sported magnificent beards.
How has growing a beard changed your life?I love...love...love beards. Proof? I've always been a bearded man and never left the pressure or need to completely shave it off—except once. But, to be honest, it actually changed my life and gave my look a whole new edge.
What made you grow it in the first place?I was fascinated with some of the most stunning personalities who have sported a big-boy beard. From Abraham Lincoln to Karl Marx—these iconic figures have always served as my beard inspiration.
Do women dig the beard or a clean-shave?According to me, women majorly dig beards. (laughs)

Never. That would take my obsession to a whole new level.
Razor or trimmer? And how often?Always use a trimmer — depending on my assignments and my mood.
Ever tried beard oils, shampoos, conditioners etc?I shampoo and oil regularly. Because one has to keep it clean and smooth.

Usually, my best phase is when I am on a break and traveling. It means I get to let my beard be free-flowing and wild. The worst was when I had to shave it off for a campaign and the in-between phase got on my nerves
The razor/trimmer you're using right now?Philip trimmer
According to you, the most iconic celebrity beard in the world?Amitabh Bachchan according to me sports a classic and very stylish beard
