Alright guys, it's time to make those 'never-really-follow' New Year fitness resolutions. It's completely alright if you find it hard to keep up but just don't give up. Good things don't come easy. Also, it's about time to stop acting like internet idiots and start believing anything you see or read about fitness. Here are 5 things you absolutely need to stop doing in 2018.
1) Doing Cardio Like A Mad Cow In The Hopes Of Losing Fat© YouTube
People generally misunderstand cardio and end up overdoing it. If you are fat, fix your nutrition, don't buy a treadmill. Running for hours like mad cows will only make you skinny fat and raise your stress hormone levels. Jogging, running or generally any form of steady state cardio isn't the best for fat loss. In fact, the way people overdo it, it's the worst. Plan a structured diet and foster it with a solid weight training routine. Cardio is only a tool not a training protocol.
2) Thinking That Just Because You Worked Out Hard, You Can Eat Anything© YouTube
People who do a lot of cardio generally do this. Oh, I ran for an hour, now I gorge on a pizza. No workout program can outdo a bad diet. If you think it can, take off your shirt and you will know what I am saying. Nutrition first, exercising later. What you eat reflects in how you look.
3) Buying Detox Water, Thinking That It Will Make You Slim© YouTube
Don't let your desperation guide your fat loss journey. There are a million bogus products out there but none of them will ever help you. Detox food or juices are the front runners in the list of stupid fat loss products. Stop wasting your money and invest in a good coach and more protein rich food.
4) Buying Fat Free Food And Going On Fruitarian Diets (STOP Throwing Away Your Egg Yolks)© YouTube
It's 2017 and we have come a long way from the 50s and 60s when people feared fat as it were Satan's child. Thanks to science, we now know that fat is very essential for our well being and doesn't, in isolation, make us fat. So please, stop picking up stupid products. Also, fruit only diets will wreck your metabolism beyond belief. You need macro nutrients to survive.
5) Fearing Carbohydrates© YouTube
No macronutrient is bad OR makes you fat. It's the total amount of calories you eat from everything that's making you fat. Ketogenic dieters in particular have given carbs a bad name. Sadly though, science agrees with evidence, not idiocy. Carbohydrates are not making you fat, your overeating is. Establish calories in versus calories out. Calculate the food you eat.
