Whatsapp Follows Snapchats Footsteps Launches Photo andamp Video Statuses That Will Expire In 24 Hours

Our beloved app, Whatsapp is rolling out some new features where one can put decorated images, GIFs and videos in the status update that lasts for 24 hours and can be shared with your contact list in a specialized and separate tab. By the looks of it, the feature seem to be a rip-off of Snapchat and Instagram stories and let’s just hope that there is some difference in the design. Although the best part of Whatsapp’s feature is that you can streamline your contacts and show the status to only a few selected people.

So what’s in store for users? Well, you can scroll through status feeds and watch updates, add emojis, text and scribble on your status images and videos. You can even share these images and videos with selected groups based on your privacy settings. You get an added option of putting some contacts on mute, so now you know where all those annoying relatives and friends will go.

While, it’s too early to judge how cool or boring this new feature is going to be, if you have already exhausted the features on Snapchat and Instagram, this might be slightly irksome for you. This feature will be initially introduced in Europe and will make its way towards India pretty soon, so hold on to your seats. Check out this video that explains what this feature will look like.
