Apple is preparing to launch a new iPad that will be relatively cheaper than the existing lineup to challenge the two big tech giants Google and Microsoft. The move to launch a cheaper iPad will be an attempt by Apple to win back students and teachers as the company will also announce software that focuses heavily on education.

Apple is all set to host an event on Tuesday at Lane Technical College Prep High School in Chicago where the company is expected to announce the new iPad. The new version will be the cheapest of the lot and the company will also showcase new software that will aid in classrooms.
The iPad is expected to be 9.7-inches in size and will also reportedly support the Apple Pencil for aspiring artists. According to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is preparing to launch two models where one of the variants will cost $259 (INR 16, 787) and a refreshed model that will have support for the Apple Pencil. The more expensive iPad model is expected to cost $329 (INR 21,324) and will compete directly with Android tablets, Google's Chromebook and Microsofts Surface tablets.

The cheaper iPad will reportedly be manufactured by Apple supplier Compal Electronics and is expected to target affordable Android tablets. It can be assumed that if Apple plans to announce the two iPads tomorrow, it is very likely that production has already begun. We will know for sure what Apple has in store for us when the company announces new products at the event tomorrow. Until then, stay tuned to MensXP Technology for regular updates on the launch.
