IPL Controversy: Pollard Destroys Manjrekar With His Verbal Diarrhea Tweet

The tenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has witnessed just seven games so far. But, while the on-field banter and friendly exchanges continue to enthral the fans, the 2017 edition of the tournament got its first taste of controversy on Monday.

Though the sight of a cricketer taking on the opposition player is pretty common, but to see a player lock horns with a commentator is something novel. And, that's exactly what happened after the Mumbai Indians' clash with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

While the Rohit Sharma brigade was busy celebrating the heroics of Nitish Rana and Hardik Pandya who snatched a thrilling four-wicket win against Kolkata, their all-rounder Kieron Pollard was raring to go at the Indian commentator Sanjay Manjrekar.

The Trinidadian cricketer attacked Manjrekar with a torrent of tweets, lashing out at the commentator for his on-air observations about the West Indian.

During the match, Manjrekar said: "When I think of Pollard, I think of a six-seven-over-left batsman", suggesting that the West Indies all-rounder is a limited player.

Irked by his comments, Pollard took to Twitter and destroyed Manjrekar with a barrage of tweets, including the one where he labelled his comments as a 'verbal diarrhea'.

@sanjaymanjrekar u feel any positive can come out of your mouth bcuz Β u get pay to talk u can continue with your verbal diarrhea ..

"Words are very powerful...once it leaves u can't take it back...sin of parents fall on..." Pollard further said, then asked Manjrekar to complete the sentence.

Do you know how I get big so.. about BRAINLESS.. words are very powerful .. once it leaves u can't take it back.. sins of parents fall on...

Well, it's way too early in the tournament to witness a Twitter rant between a player and a commentator, but by the looks of it, we are in for some action as far as these two are concerned.
