The FIFA World Cup 2018 kicked off – literally – last night with Russia kicking Saudi Arabia's ass. As we all know, something so huge like the freaking World Cup will give us a steady supply of hilarious memes and this year, it was kicked off by none other than Vladimir Putin himself.

Side note – How many kicking puns is too many kicking puns?

Coming back to yesterday's game, Russia had an incredible 5-0 victory over Saudi Arabia in a Group A game in Moscow. Team Russia winning the first game in Russia? Obviously, Putin was all smiles at the game as he watched from a VIP box with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Just twelve minutes into the match, the Saudi back line got caught out of place after a corner kick, leaving a wide-open opportunity for Russia's Yury Gazinsky to score the first goal of the tournament.

But, turns out there was something better than the goal that happened during the aftermath of that moment. Thankfully, someone was able to capture the interaction between the Russian president and the Saudi crown prince, starting with a shrug, followed by a sympathetic handshake.

Naturally, it caught the eye of the people on Twitter and we got immediate reactions.

No one can confirm what the actual conversation was.
