Two footballers from Chennai have made the whole country proud and broken two Guinness world records in two different categories of the sport.
A resident of Thiruvanmiyur, 27-year-old Ramesh did 284 consecutive football touches on his knees in a minute, breaking the previous record of 250. Similarly, 21-year-old Raja, a resident of Chromepet, did 117 eye-to-eye rolls with a football in a minute, while the previous record was of 98.

Both of them had attempted and made the world record on 25th December, 2016, and received their official certification from the US-based organisation last week.
Ramesh is a former football player and has now turned into a freestyle coach, and he said that achieving this amazing feat would help out his academyβs brand a lot. "I run a freestyle coaching academy called PRSoccerArt. We conduct weekend classes at Nageswara Rao Park in Mylapore and at the Elliot's Beach in Besant Nagar. Having a world record in my name will help me market the academy and myself better," he said.

It was Ramesh only who got Raja into the world of freestyle football. Ramesh saw videos of Raja competing at the Red Bull street style competition in 2012 and was really impressed by his skills, he contacted him over Facebook. Both of them also even credit Brazilian football icon Ronaldinho for inspiring them to take up the pursuit.
"It (freestyle) is more than just juggling," Raja explained. "Sometimes, it is irritating to have to explain that to people," he said.

Ramesh even has an impressive work history, having coached Bollywood actors Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh for brief scenes in βHouseful 3β and a TV commercial respectively. He has also previously delivered TED talks on freestyle football in Chennai and Trichy. They have even performed during ISL and Premier Futsal opening ceremonies.
They even like to share their talent and expertise in the freestyle football field with their YouTube channel PRSoccerArt which has several videos offering a step-by-step guide to freestyle football.

After achieving a record each, theyβre not planning on stopping anytime soon. "We're working to break four more world records at present," Ramesh said.
Well, all the best to them!
