The feat comes after the Portuguese captain scored in the 4th minute against Morocco in his side's second outing at the FIFA World cup in Russia. His was the game's only goal giving Portugal the win and also helping Ronaldo pip Ferenc Puskas as Europe's top goal scorer with 85 goals in 152 appearances.

Out of the 152 caps for Portugal, Ronaldo has scored in 58 games with his side going on to win 48 and losing just 5. In this edition of the world cup, Portugal has drawn one and won one against Spain and Morocco respectively, sitting atop the group B table at 4 points and all 4 of their goals coming courtesy of Cristiano Ronaldo himself. Talk about performing at the biggest stage of them all.

Cristiano is now only second to Iran's Ali Daei (109 goals) in the world when it comes to goals scored for their respective countries.  Considering Cristiano's ability and his goal scoring form, it wouldn't be much of a surprise if he achieves this feat too. Although the bigger picture for the man himself would be winning the world cup, adding another record to his collection would certainly be another feather in his cap, who if not THE BEST, is certainly one of the greatest players to ever grace the football pitch.
