Kartik Aaryan's denim game has always been strong. He has proved it time and again throughout the past year, and honestly, he is one of the rare B-Town celebrities, whose style game is supremely noteworthy, yet extremely relatable. He is constantly upping the ante when it comes to discovering his true aesthetic, and is successful every time, while surprising us all, pleasantly so. 

His latest attempt at bringing back a super quirky jeans trend from the '90s fared just as well. Take a look.

There was a phase during the '90s which was all about the bizarre. Perhaps that explains the trend of jeans with ankle zippers? Though the trend was a fun flip on the whole bootcut phenomenon, it wasn't able to sustain itself - perhaps because of the lack of functionality? Anyway, Kartik clearly thought it needs to be back and took appropriate action.

The distressed and ruched fabric is adding to the avant-garde vibe of the pair, and is making the zippered ends look like they were just meant to be. What we love about the pair is that it's absolutely dynamic in its construction. It starts off as a regular pair at the top near the waist, and slowly starts changing. At the knees, it gets distressed and ruched at the same time, and finishes off at the ankles with those statement zippers, with a lot of extra length to boot.

Moving on, though, can we take a look at those insane sneakers? Aren't they crazy? Actually, no other pair would quite do justice to that pair of jeans. Plus, there is a reason he has chosen to undo the zippers - to show off the high-topped awesomeness going on beneath them.

Ankle zippers are still quite popular when it comes to workout clothes and athleisure, but when it comes to jeans, they are pretty dormant. But thanks to Kartik, they might just make a mainstream comeback. Not everyone can pull them off, yes, but isn't that what fashion is all about?
