In a country where cricket is considered a religion, it's not really surprising to see the cricketers enjoying the status of demigods themselves. Whether they are on or off the field, Indian cricketers have a billion eyeballs stalking them. And, it's not just the players, but their wives and girlfriends (WAGs), as well, who have to endure public interest and scrutiny that often goes hand in hand.

But, when you're the wife of one of India's most successful captains, the general interest of the common folk is expectedly more. MS Dhoni is arguably the most popular and definitely most scrutinised cricketer in the country. Thus, there's no surprise to see his wife Sakshi attracting the kind of spotlight she does, for almost everything.

While the sight of Sakshi rooting for her husband from the stands elates the Indian cricket fans, her posts on the social media allow us to peek into the life of our favourite cricketer. But, every now and then, there comes a time when Sakshi is targeted by internet trolls for being herself.

A similar case came to the fore recently, when Sakshi shared the photos of her look for the wedding of Poorna Patel - daughter of politician Praful Patel. The 29-year-old was absolutely rocking the beautiful silver-and-pink designer lehenga in her photo from the sangeet ceremony. But, while many adored her outfit, there were some bigots who couldn't help running their mouth.

Targetting her stunning embellished blouse, some Instagram users - with their sorry mentality - slammed Sakshi for wearing such a revealing outfit. "You have no dressing sense mind my words." Another user commented, "she's a celebrity wife..if she wears a dress like this will it be nice...we have a tradition remember that," an idiot wrote.

"How Dhoni ji @mahi7781 is allowing such like dress to @sakshisingh_r ..bcoz he's a gentle, perfect man, his wife also needs to be perfect like him, all other ladies may show up like that..but it doesn't suit you Sakshi mam..you are very respected..you are highly honoured you are not like other woman..you deserve respect..bcoz all those cheap are commenting craps that's not needed right. other than that, you are truly beautiful," another bigot commented.

But, just when the trolls thought they'd run away with their bigotry, Dhoni fans came to her rescue and silenced the naysayers for good. One of the fans wrote, "Before being a WIFE she is a lady** !! I pity you, trollers. And nothing nothing nothing is wrong in this picture! The one thing which is wrong is your mentality....go and get a place to die!"

"What was wrong in that picture, why all were commenting the shit. She was totally covered and just wearing skin color, is that wrong?? If that was of some other color then comments would have been different," said another fan.

Replying to one of the bigots, a user wrote, "Your narrow thinking is the worst part, everyone has their sense of fashion and their style. She is looking fab and it's not harming anyone's image."
