Filmmaker JP Dutta is back with what he does the best. The trailer of 'Paltan' is finally out and somehow it falls flat, much to our disappointment.

Unlike the past films by Dutta, 'Paltan' hardly grabs your attention. 30 seconds into the trailer and you already know this isn't one of his best works, but just a drag-on with no effect.

Starring Jackie Shroff, Arjun Rampal, Gurmeet Choudhary, Siddhanth Kapoor, Luv Sinha and Sonu Sood, the makers try hard to recreate 'Border' and 'LOC Kargil' but fail in their attempts. The 3-minute clip gives us a reference to the 1962 Indo-China war.

For those who don't know their history, the Indian Army suffered massive casualties during the time, and the war came to an end only after China declared a unilateral ceasefire, bringing to an end the Sino-Indian War.

We are transported back to 1967 and a background narration throws light on the military clash between the two nations. The film is based on the Nathu La and Cho La military clashes, when the Indian Army was protecting the Nathula Pass in Sikkim from China.

There are some intense action sequences and power-packed dialogues but Dutta's film doesn't seem like a promising one.

The movie also stars Esha Gupta, Sonal Chauhan, Deepika Kakar, Monica Gill in typical ladylove roles, who are waiting for their partners to return home safely from the war. 

The movie is all set to hit the screens on September 7.
