Shah Rukh Khan Shared A Heartfelt Tribute For 'Baapji' Atal Bihari Vajpayee

The entire nation is mourning right now after we lost one of the most legendary leader this country has ever seen. Atal Bihari Vajpayee passed away yesterday at the age of 93 and ever since then, social media has been flooded with heartfelt messages from everyone.

For a lot of us millennials, he was the first prime minister we remember and the person who probably got us interested in politics back in the day, when he led the country from 1998 to 2004.

From tributes to sending thoughts and prayers to his family to reminiscing about the days of his leadership, Twitter has been filled with heartfelt messages. One of the most moving note came from Shah Rukh Khan as he fondly remembered the times he had the opportunity to meet him.

He also talked about how 'Baapji' – this is what Atal Bihari Vajpayee was fondly called at SRK's house – has influenced him throughout his life, ever since the time his father started taking him for all his speeches when he was growing up.

He also said how personally this loss has affected him, saying, “I have lost a part of my childhood and growing up memories of learning smiling and of course poetry.”

Along with the message, Shah Rukh Khan also shared this video.

SRK's moving tribute was truly fitting for one of the most beloved leaders our country has ever seen, and a lot of people agreed.

What a classic tribute @iamsrk; only you could pen this. Few words that talk more than their alphabetic limitations https://t.co/9JlYuLkM2D
