After Mocking Apple For Years, Samsung Has Now Removed The Headphone Jack From A Smartphone

We're all accustomed to tech companies taking a dig at each other and the most popular of all rivalries is the one between Samsung and Apple.

Samsung has constantly mocked the Cupertino Giant ever since Apple decided to remove the headphone jack from the iPhone 7.

Samsung introduced its latest smartphone i.e. the Galaxy A8s where it has an Infinity-O display, a near edge-to-edge display and a small hole for the front-facing camera.

Samsung also quietly removed the headphone jack, directly contradicting the South Korean company's mocking stand over Apple.

At the Galaxy Note 7 launch, Samsung mocked Apple live at the event as Samsung executive Justin Denison pointed out "Want to know what else it comes with?" he asked. "An audio jack. I'm just saying," he answered, smirking as the audience laughed.

Samsung also mocked Apple in its latest advertisements for the Galaxy S9/S9+ which you can see below:

It seems like Samsung has gone the Apple way now with the Galaxy A8s, where users have to use a dongle to use their own wired headphones. Users will be forced to use a USB-C to 3.5mm jack adapter just like how one would on an iPhone X/XS/8 and 7.

Having said that, rumours say that the Galaxy S10 will still continue to sport a headphone jack and will probably be the last device by the company to do so. According to the Korean website ETNews, Samsung is considering removing the headphone jack from the Galaxy Note 10 and all other future phones.

Other companies like Google and Huawei who have also poked fun at Apple for the same reasons, have now followed suit with the Pixel 2/2XL and Mate 20 Pro respectively.

Oh well, it seems like Apple followed the trend way sooner than any of its competitors and it seems like more companies will be doing the same in the near future.
