In a country where the LGBTQ community is still looked down upon by certain sections of society and homophobic people are found in abundance, Manjit Kaur, a woman Sub-Inspector of the Punjab Police is breaking all taboos and how. Kaur recently got married, in a grand celebration, to her female friend.

While, this same-*** wedding turned several heads across the country, the couple received a lot of blessings and warm wishes from family, colleagues, former classmates and friends; giving us hope that the society’s mindset is slowly changing and for good.
Reportedly, Kaur wore the traditional red turban while her bride came to the wedding riding on a chariot. The wedding took place in Jalandhar.

Although haters are going to hate and there’s nothing that can be done about it, this move didn’t go unnoticed by some sound minds as they praised the brave move taken by the officer, on social media. At times, when someone is at a significant position, they are burdened with a lot of pressure and expected to make decisions accordingly. But, we are extremely proud of Kaur for not giving in to the social taboo and doing what she thought was right for her and her partner.
