Protecting your ears is a must, if you attend a lot of loud concerts or get yelled at by your girlfriend/mother. Knops is a new adjustable ear plug which lets you adjust the volume of your surroundings and is now up for funding on Kickstarter.

Essentially these function as a high-tech analogue acoustic filter, which does not require any battery life, Bluetooth connector or an app. It has been designed so that the wearer can control the volume of surrounding sounds and protect his or her ears from loud noises.

Knops will let the user adjust sounds on multiple levels i.e. it has four settings, ranging from an initial level to no filtering at all. It can lower the amount of ambient noise around you or have a higher fidelity of blocking which is essentially meant for music concerts.  You can even block out the sound entirely, a feature I will regularly use around my girlfriend.

Knops is priced at $62 on Kickstarter if you decide to back the project today. There’s even a fancier version which is gold-plated and is available for $117. These prices are exclusive to early bird backers and the earplugs will eventually sell at a higher price.
