If you look at the bright side, the lockdown is pushing us to the limits, and how. People who never entered the kitchen are now prepping focaccia bread, corporate slaves realized they can paint, and most recently, the bearded blokes of India â right from cricketers to B-town celebs â have decided to ditch the scruff for a fresh look.
While quite a few of them including Hardik Pandya, Buvneshwar Kumar and Telugu star Ram Potheni decided to sport clean-shaven looks, there are others whoâve created trending styles which are grabbing all eyeballs.
1. Captain Cool â Virat Kohli
Instagram- Virat Kohli
Just a couple of weeks back, Virat Kohli posted a video where he got rid of his side-burns and chopped down his goatee â paving the way for a fresher style. It was a huge surprise to see the captain finally taking the plunge â never have I ever imagined him without beard! In fact, his video took us back to 2017 where the men in blue
(well, most of them, but Kohli) started the #BreakTheBeard trend, proving that
full-grown beards are oh-so-passé and the captain declined to be a part of it.
Better late than never, Kohli finally dipped his toes in the trendy Break The
Beard bandwagon, and his Frenchie plus Van Dyke look gets full marks from us!
Grooming enthusiasts will agree that Virat gave his beard a fashionable breather â the classic Van Dyke coupled with the Frenchieâs oomph factor.
STYLE TAKEAWAY: If you have a square-shaped face, this beard style is cut out for you. The chin beard gives length to the face, while the moustache makes sure you look more dynamic, less genteel!
2. Sumeet VyasAnother celebrity who left us heart-eyed after entering the âBreak the Beardâ club is Sumeet Vyas. In his recent Instagram post, he gave himself a quick (& handsome) makeover while grooving to 50 Centâs Candy Shop. Thanks to the catchy background score and blingy effects, we watched this one on loop! One moment Sumeet is lathering his face with foam, and before you know it, he evolves into a drop-dead dapper version of himself, all thanks to his new sharp beard style.

We absolutely love the moustache anchored by the chin strip â it has visibly enhanced his jaw-line!
STYLE TAKEAWAY: If you have an oval face, Sumeet Vyasâ #BreakTheBeard look is just the style guide you need. For starters, the moustache adds some character (and wisdom) to your features. Then thereâs a chin strip, which is something that oval faced men rock like no other.
3. Aditya SealNext in line is the âStudent of the Year 2â fame - Aditya Seal. He opted for a medley of the Royale beard and frenchie, and the result has left us women smitten! For those of you who found him drool-worthy in SOTY 2, youâre in for a pleasant surprise.

STYLE TAKEAWAY: Aditya Sealâs latest style just proves (yet again!) that a chin strip and floating moustache give massive definition to an oval face. Youngsters, style this beard with side-parted (and preferably gelled) hair and youâre good to go. If you want to copy the look, opt for a classic pompadour hairstyle like Aditya Seal.
4. Jatin SapruWhen it comes to handsome anchors on the TV, the first name that comes to mind is the sports anchor Jatin Sapru! Much to our surprise, the handsome hunk shaved off his stubble and gave himself a striking new summer moustache.

STYLE TAKEAWAY: If youâre someone who has a well-defined jaw-line, copy Jatin Sapruâs BTB look already! A detached and bushy moustache complemented by a spunky (yet tiny) chin strip is all you need to stand out.
Think about it this way â weâre in lockdown and summer is just around the corner â what better time than now to befriend the razor and flaunt those chiselled features. Believe me, these looks are bound to impress everyone from bosses to bae while you do those regular video calls with them! So men, pick up your razor, foam up your face and experiment with your beard while youâre at home. While you are at it, join the #BreakTheBeard trend, if you haven't already.
