ISLAMABAD: Assistant Commissioner Ali Asghar was allegedly shown the door after a polio team vaccinated the excise director's child ? against the family's wishes ? on Thursday.

Excise Director Mariam Mumtaz reportedly expressed her anger when the child was vaccinated despite her husband's refusal, sources told Geo News.Β

Mumtaz conveyed her displeasure to the Islamabad Chief Commissioner Zulfiqar Haider following which Asghar's services were surrendered to the Establishment Division.Β

In a written response to the chief commisioner's explanation call, Asghar stated that he was willing to apologize to the female officer despite not being at fault.

According to sources, Asghar received threats from Mumtaz's husband.

On the other hand, Mumtaz claimed that she had resolved the matter by allowing the polio team to administer the vaccination to her child.

"The chief commisioner should be contacted for further comments on the matter," she said.

An unrest in officers of the administration surfaced following the incident, sources reported.
