KARACHI: Two young men drowned at the Sandspit Beach here late Sunday night, rescue sources said.

Bodies of both the men ? Rehan and Hammad Fareed ? have been recovered, the rescue sources explained further, adding that the search for the latter had recommenced after being halted due to darkness earlier.

Hammad?s friends, following the news, had arranged a generator and reached Sandspit during the night.

Rehan resided in Dhoraji area, near Bahadurabad, rescue team revealed, while Hammad Fareed was a resident of FB Area?s Block 6.

Kite string slashes boy?s neck

A young boy was injured when a kite string slashed his neck in Lahore?s Manawan area, police stated.

The injured boy, a Grade 10 student, was shifted to Services Hospital in the provincial capital, security officials added.
