VEHARI: Police have registered a case against a woman who threw acid on his husband for contracting a second marriage.

The incident took place in a village in Vehari.

According to the acid attack victim Imran Ashraf, who sustained 35% burns on his body, his wife Yasmeen was upset over his second marriage and threw a bucket of acid on him while he was asleep. He was immediately shifted to the District Headquarters hospital, from where he was shifted to Nishtar Hospital in Multan.

The woman has since fled and police are engaged in locating her whereabouts.
