Hyderabad Traffic Police Officers Get Cooling Vests To Beat The Scorching Heat

Sitting inside air-conditioned rooms or travelling in AC cars and cribbing about the scorching heat is very easy. But let’s take some time and think about those people who stand under the sun and patrol the streets so that you can travel safely. They don’t have the privilege to complain or sit under the shade. Despite soaked in sweat and tired from standing all day, they continue doing their work. But, things are changing for good now that the authorities have turned towards them and decided to help them beat the heat by providing them with cooling vests.

200 cooling vests and jackets have been distributed to the traffic police officers in Hyderabad, to help them beat the intense heat. Once the effectiveness of these jackets is measured, all the traffic cops will be provided with the gears. According to a report published in the Indian Express, A Ravinder, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) said, “This jacket helps in keeping body temperature 5-6 degrees Celsius lower than the ambient temperature for 3-5 hours, depending on the humidity in the environment.” He further added, “Keeping in mind the high temperature, we have procured 200 specially designer cooling vests for distribution among cops on traffic regulation.”

Well, this jacket is beneficial in a lot of ways. Not just for summers, but in winters too, this vest will help keep the body warm. What’s more, this jacket helps maintain normal body temperature in extreme heat conditions, keeps under check heart rate, thermal and cardiovascular strain and at the same time neutralizes the effects of outside temperature. It also decreases dehydration, enhances tolerance levels and reduces rate of exertion.

This is a really cool initiative and we hope that other cities and states also take cue from Hyderabad.
