Nothing is impossible in life, and this can’t be said enough number of times. Sumitra Devi worked as a peon at CCL (Central Coalfields Limited) township in Ramgarh, Jharkand. The lady worked hard to ensure proper education for her three sons and when she recently retired, her sons attended her farewell function – one of them is a doctor, one is an IAS officer and one is a railway engineer.

It was a proud moment for the mother, who didn’t leave her job as a peon even after her sons got into the prestigious jobs. Clearly, this woman knew the value of hard work and was a living inspiration for her sons. Her elder son Virendra Kumar is a railway engineer, the second eldest Dhirendra Kumar has become a doctor, and the third son Mahendra Kumar is the district collector of Siwan in Bihar. 

Attending their mother’s farewell function, the three sons praised her hard work and credited her struggle as the inspiration behind their success. They said how seeing her struggle they decided to work hard and make something of their lives. 

The farewell was an emotional affair. While Sumitra Devi was both proud and emotional on seeing her sons attend the function, her colleagues were all praises for her. She was presented with a shawl and a flower bouquet.
