The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Monday forecasted very hot and dry weather in the plain areas of the country in the next twenty-four hours.

Continental air continues to prevail over most parts of the country, the MET said.

A shallow westerly wave is present over upper parts of the country.

Dust-thunderstorm/rain with gusty winds is expected at a few places in Malakand, Hazara, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore divisions, Islamabad and Kashmir.

Past weather:

Weather remained very hot and dry in most parts of the country. However, rain-thunderstorm with gusty winds occurred at isolated places in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur divisions and Kashmir.

Yesterday?s highest temperatures:

Turbat 53°C, Sibbi 51°C, Lasbella 49, Panjgur, Padidan, Dadu, Jacobabad 47°C, Dalbandin, Nokkundi, Moenjodaro, Hyderabad, Larkana 46°C°C.

Yesterday record temperature of 47°C observed in Panjgur. Earlier record was 43.5°C on 26th May, 2010.
