Tamim Iqbal plays a shot/Reuters LONDON: A sure-footed fifty by opener Tamim Iqbal stabilised Bangladesh after Australian pace attack struck early in a must-win clash for Bangladesh at The Oval on Monday.
Bangladesh earlier won the toss and chose to bat first against two-time Champions Trophy winners Australia.
Bangladesh lost to England in the tournament opener last week, while Australia shared points with New Zealand after their match was washed out by rain.
The last completed ODI match between Australia and Bangladesh was held over six years ago, as their World Cup tie in 2015 was washed out.
