
ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan decided on Sunday to have CCTV cameras installed at all the polling stations across the country.
Under the decision, that came with the General Elections only being a year away, 80,000 cameras will be bought for the purpose of surveillance.
According to sources, in the first phase, cameras would be installed at the sensitive polling stations. The ECP would purchase IP Day and Night vision cameras.
Along with the 80,000 cameras, 20,000 recording devices, 20,000 UPS and monitoring display devices would be bought, according to the ECP.Β
