ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif expressed hope that the current impasse in the Gulf countries will be resolved soon in the best interest of the Muslim Brotherhood.

The premier returned to Pakistan early Tuesday from his one-day visit to Saudi Arabia.

PM Sharif and Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz discussed the emerging situation in the Gulf countries earlier on Monday.

The premier was accompanied by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, and Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz.

Sharif reaffirmed strong commitment of the people and government of Pakistan to Saudi Arabia?s territorial integrity and sovereignty and the safety of Harmain-Al-Sharifain.

The premier expressed solidarity with the Saudi Arabia and said the Kingdom holds a very special place in the hearts of Pakistanis.

King Aziz thanked the Prime Minister for his visit and lauded Pakistan for its exceptional success in the war against extremism and terrorism.

He also reiterated strong commitment and support of the Kingdom for all issues of interest for Pakistan, including matters of its national security.
