KARACHI: Security forces made five arrests late Saturday night during search operations conducted in various areas of the metropolis, police said.

One suspect was taken into custody during a raid late last night, while three of the arrestee?s accomplices managed to escape, police stated, adding that arms and ammunition were recovered from him as well.

A case has subsequently been filed against the suspects.

In an operation carried out in the Garden area, police detained three alleged street criminals and seized arms and a motorcycle from the arrestees, who were reportedly involved in theft and robbery crimes too.

In this regard, a case has been lodged in the Jamshed Quarters police station.

On the other hand, suspect Irfan was taken into police custody during a raid conducted in Karachi?s Lyari, sources mentioned.

The arrestee reportedly belongs to a political party, the sources explained, adding that he also had close connections with Uzair Baloch?s group.
