
Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed speaks to Geo News.KARACHI: Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed, following his side's historic win in the Champions Trophy 2017, has termed it an outcome of the nation and his family?s prayers.
In his exclusive interview to Geo News, Sarfraz said, "I feel happy that we provided a chance to the Pakistani people to celebrate."
He said that there is nothing like junior or senior in the team, and all the players in the squad support each other.
The talented Pakistan captain said Shoaib Malik and Muhammad Hafeez supported him and the newcomers in the team.
He went on to say that he wishes to further improve the team combination for the ICC World Cup 2019.
Sarfraz, who won the hearts of the Pakistani people through his brilliant captaincy, said his mother, coach Azam Khan and the nation's prayers played a big role in Pakistan's triumph against India in the Champions Trophy finale.
He also said that they have good terms with Indian players.
The skipper credited Pakistan Super League (PSL) for highlighting new talent in the country.
"PSL helped bring new players to the fore. They performed in domestic events, but the PSL brought them into light," he said.
