8-Year-Old Kashmiri Girl Makes History By Winning Gold At The World Kickboxing Championship
An 8-year-old Kashmiri girl, Tajamul Islam, created history by clinching the gold medal in the World Kick Boxing Championships on Friday.
A class two student from the Bandipora district, Islam defeated her rival from the USA to win the championship. The competition was held in Italy's Andria where ninety countries participated in the event. Tajamul's coach, Master Fasil Ali, said that it was for the first time that a player from sub-junior category won a gold medal in the game.
Tajamul was thrust into the limelight last year after winning the gold medal in the sub-junior category National Kickboxing Championship in New Delhi.
