ISLAMABAD: Qatar's Prince Hamad Bin Jassim bin Jaber Al-Thani has answered the letter by the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) and the same will be presented before the team today, reported Geo News on Friday.

A source close to the Sharif family, present in Doha for the past two days, confirmed the same to Geo News.

In its last communication to Al-Thani, the JIT considered the verification and investigation of Qatari prince?s letters important for Hussain Nawaz and Hasan Nawaz.

The latest JIT?s communication dated July 4 and addressed to the Qatari prince did not mention any relevance of Thani?s probe with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

The JIT conveyed to the Qatari prince that the JIT intends to go beyond mere verification of Thani?s letters.

?The scope and remit of the investigation and recording of your statement as intended and sought by the JIT is therefore materially broader and different than that which has been offered in your latest letter. This is also self evident from the contents of our letter dated 22-6-2017," said the JIT.

On the question of jurisdiction as was raised by the Qatari prince in his letter written to the JIT, the team responded that the Al-Thani has accepted the jurisdiction of Supreme Court of Pakistan as well as that of the JIT by voluntarily signing and providing letters for submission before the apex court in support of the replies and stance adopted by Hussain Nawaz and Hasan Nawaz.
