Nawaz Sharif should resign immediately: Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Monday called on Nawaz Sharif to immediately resign as the prime minister in light of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) report.
Imran Khan added that the report?s findings have vindicated him and finally the opposition's hard work had paid off.
While addressing the media Khan reiterated several times that the prime minister should resign.
Imran said the ruling party went all out to obstruct the investigation and in the process discredited state institutions.
?I am grateful that at the end truth has prevailed, whatever we have been saying all along today came out before everyone,? he said.
The JIT in its report today recommended that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) file a reference against Prime Minister Nawaz and his sons, Hussain and Hassan Nawaz.
The premier?s son-in-law, Captain Safdar, was also included in the names forwarded to NAB.
"Significant gap/disparity amongst the known and declared sources of income and the wealth accumulated by the Respondent No. 1, 6, 7 and 8 have been observed," said the investigation team in its closing remarks.
