The quality of pitches produced during the ongoing Test series between Pakistan and Australia has hogged more limelight than players’ performances.
Australia had returned to Pakistani shores after 24 long years and it was upon the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to turn it into a memorable series by preparing surfaces that produced an even contest between bat and ball but they failed big time.

First Rawalpindi, then Karachi, and now Lahore, the tracks on all three venues made life difficult for the bowlers – for both pacers and spinners – and heavily tilted the tide in the favour of the batters.
Even the International Cricket Council (ICC) match referee was not pleased with the Rawalpindi pitch and rated it as “below average” in his official report.

After the first two Tests ended in a draw, cricket fans around the world had hoped the host nation would change its stance and prepare decks that offered something to bowlers and the batters in equal measures. However, witnessing the action unfold in the first two days of the Test match, the fans have been left disappointed.
Instead of correcting its mistakes, the PCB chairman Ramiz Raja has reportedly issued an advisory to  all the commentators to abolish the word “flat track” in their analysis of the surface.
    Here’s the video:
Have a listen to Michael Kasprowicz go into full panic mode once he realizes he’s called the pitches “flat” despite the PCB giving a directive to the commentators not to mention how flat they are… #PAKvAUS https://t.co/8Li0CsDRz3 pic.twitter.com/SUXn9N2q9v

On Day 2 of the ongoing third Test, former Australian fast bowler Micheal Kasprowicz went into full panic mode after describing the Lahore surface as “flat wickets” on air. Almost immediately he issued an apology and took his words back.
“It's important, isn't it. We talk about the spinners, the variations, the speed is certainly one of those things. But also for the fast bowlers, and certainly Mitchell Starc's speeds have been very consistent here at 140. But I think, the key also, on these flat wickets -- sorry, on these good batting strips what we are seeing here, beautiful batting strips..” Kasprowicz said on air.
From his reaction it was clear that he had received orders from the PCB administration to not describe the surface as “flat”.
As per a journalist from Geo News, these instructions were given to commentators by Ramiz Raja during the Rawalpindi Test as well. #PAKvAUS

The former Aussie pacer did his best to pass it off as a genuine error but soon reports emerged that the directives had come directly from the PCB chief Ramij Raza himself.
The clipping of Kasprowicz soon became viral on social media and fans, including the Pakistani supporters, started slamming the PCB and its chairman for killing Test cricket through these road-like surfaces.
That's fundamentally a fascist behaviour, instead of fixing the root cause, you censor any mention of it and censure those who do. And imbecilic us were expecting him to turn this ship around
    — Sikander Javaid (@sikander69) March 13, 2022If administrators think placid pitches and dull draws will popularise Test cricket, they are grossly doubting the intelligence of the fans. The series in Pakistan has harmed Test cricket. Who has the answers?
    — Vijay Lokapally (@vijaylokapally) March 22, 2022This series gives the 80’s a run for its money… quite possibly the most boring & dull series of the 21st century, especially after all the hype around it. The PCB has laid out the template on how to kill Test cricket!
    — Adrian Gay (@AdrianG37) March 22, 2022So depressing if the commentators can't say what's in front of their eyes why be there at all?
    — James (@pennsworld) March 22, 2022Not a great look. Commentators should be able to speak without fear or favour. If you think the pitch is flat, you should be able to say so. As cricket fans, we know what we're seeing. Trying to pull the wools over our eyes is a silly move by the powers that be
    — MediumPaceDobbler (@MediumPaceDobb1) March 22, 2022Tbh this series is worst series of 21 st century, all matches pitch was totally flat, aussies batters tried to make result but Pakistani batters always looking for draw and pak fans who are saying when aus come to bowl they start crying dude, they out pak under 150.
    — Ã𝖆𝖍𝖆𝖓 (@famededo_) March 22, 2022Calling a spade a spade is what commentators do and it’s a shame the PCB chief stopped them from speaking their mind.

Ever since the massive box office success of The Kashmir Files, there are a lot of people who have asked its director Vivek Agnihotri if he plans on sharing the huge profits earned from the film with the victims i.e the Kashmiri Pandits.
A few days back an IAS officer from Bhopal had requested The Kashmir Files makers to donate the earnings from the film for the welfare of affected Kashmiri Pandits.
Vivek had then avoided the question and responded that he’d like to meet him in person “so we can meet and exchange ideas on how we can help and how you can help with the royalty of your books and your power as an IAS officer.”

The filmmaker has once again done something similar. However, this time, he not only dodged the question but also claimed that the film is yet to make money.

At a recent press conference in Lucknow, when asked if he will be sharing a part of his earnings from The Kashmir Files with the victims, Vivek replied, “Kamaai hogi tab baat karenge abhi kamaai ki stithi toh hai. (We’ll talk once the money makes money. Currently, it seems like the film will earn some money.)”
The journalist then retorted, “Kamaai toh bahut ho rahi hai…(The movie is making a lot of money.)” Vivek interrupted him by saying, “Aapko aisa lag raha hai woh galatfahmi hai aapki. (You are mistaken. It is not true.)”
Take a look at the video clip from the press conference below:
    हालांकि मैं बिल्कुल नहीं चाहता कि डायरेक्टर साब की कमाई उनसे लेकर कश्मीरी पंडितों को दी जाए। पर इस सवाल का जैसा जवाब उन्होंने दिया है वो उनकी और उनके इरादों की पोल खोलता है।pic.twitter.com/Je5HfJTC7D

While Vivek Agnihotri claims the film is yet to make money, The Kashmir Files has collected an unprecedented Rs 190.10 crore in just 12 days of its release.
#TheKashmirFiles continues to stand tall, runs triumphantly on weekdays... Trending strongly on weekdays... Will cross ₹ 200 cr tomorrow [Thu; Day 14]... [Week 2] Fri 19.15 cr, Sat 24.80 cr, Sun 26.20 cr, Mon 12.40 cr, Tue 10.25 cr. Total: ₹ 190.10 cr. #India biz. pic.twitter.com/DOAj86pmw8

Gujarat Titans, one of the two newcomer franchises this season, will have a lot to prove when they make their IPL 2022 debut. The Titans, under the leadership of captain Hardik Pandya, will have a point to prove in their maiden season of the most famous T20 league in the world when they open their campaign against fellow debutants Lucknow Super Giants on Monday. Having retained Pandya, Shubman Gill and Rashid Khan, the Titans assembled a formidable squad during the two days of IPL auction in February.
The Titans' fast-bowling unit is shaping up to be one of their strongest departments. The Titans have several pace unit options, including Lockie Ferguson, Alzarri Joseph, Yash Dayal, Mohammed Shami, and Varun Aaron. Former India bowler Ashish Nehra, who is coaching the Titans this season, appeared pleased with the stocks at his disposal, but he singled out one of his pacers for special attention.
Here's how earlier today, our Captain @hardikpandya7 joined Head Coach Ashish Nehra to unveil our name to the world! @StarSportsIndia #IndvWI#IPL #IPL2022 pic.twitter.com/Sc63dYlx3U
    — Gujarat Titans (@gujarat_titans) February 9, 2022
On the show Backstage with Boria, Nehra told Boria Majumdar that the Gujarat team has a mix of everything, which is crucial. Shami, for example... People have offered ten crores, twelve crores, fourteen crores... but here is Shami. Nehra has always believed in him and knows that people might be saying 'Oh, white-ball format, not much impressive numbers'. Numbers in T20 formats areas it is very close. At the end, how you use a player. Here you are talking about a guy who has really bowled well,
    View this post on Instagram
Nehra is so delighted with Shami that he has no reservations about comparing him to fellow India pacer Jasprit Bumrah. While Shami has been outstanding for India in Test cricket, he has been nothing short of amazing in limited-overs cricket.
In addition, the former Indian speedster stated that Shami is on par with Jasprit Bumrah when it comes to pace. Even when people see white-ball cricket, be in T20 or ODIs, where Bumrah’s economy rate is 7.5 and Shami can be 8.2, 8.5, but it is his strike rate that amazes Nehra so much. Shami is a wicket-taker. When you have somebody like Shami and his experience, you cannot ask for anything better.

Sunil Gavaskar, the renowned Indian cricketer, has weighed in on the Bengaluru pitch, which hosted India's second Test against Sri Lanka earlier this month. The Day/Night Test match at the M Chinnaswamy stadium was India's third pink-ball match at home, and it was the first to be completed in under three days, with the Men in Blue scoring 238 runs.
The ICC gave the Bengaluru pitch a 'below-average' rating after former bowler Javagal Srinath expressed his concerns over the surface in his hometown.

Given India's position in the World Test Championships, Gavaskar believes it was expected of them to select conditions that would help their bowlers. After losing 1-2 in South Africa, it was critical for India to win at home, and while Gavaskar acknowledged that it was understandable for India to create a pitch more to their liking, it deprived the supporters of five full days of Test cricket.
According to Gavaskar’s column for Mid-Day, the former Indian skipper believes that after what happened in South Africa, it's logical that they didn't want to take any chances and created pitches that suited their strengths. However, this causes the batsmen, who the people come to see, to be bothered by the opposition bowlers and unable to get the massive scores that their millions of fans want to see.

On Day 1, there was plenty of turn on offer, and despite the fact that the surface improved over the next few days, the Bengaluru Test saw 16 wickets fall on the first day. India were reduced to 86/4, but a counter-attacking 39 from Rishabh Pant and a superb 94 from Shreyas Iyer helped India post a first-innings total of 252. Gavaskar was pleased by the kind of performances Iyer and Pant put up on a turning deck.
To the hard-hitting performances by Pant and Iyer, Gavaskar opined that on difficult pitches, a batter needs not only technique and temperament but also a lot of luck. The other approach is to bat in the limited-overs method, where the batsman regularly takes a chance trusting his power and timing to hit the ball into the stands or the open spaces. The Little Master felt that Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer did that with a lot of self-assurance and in the process showed that with a bit of daring and some luck, runs could be scored.

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has been making headlines ever since he supported Vivek Agnihotri's The Kashmir Files at the promotional event of SS Rajamouli’s RRR. Talking about the film, he congratulated the team and added that he'll soon watch it. The actor also urged his fans to watch it.
    View this post on Instagram
However, social media users trolled him and called it a gimmick. They went after his much-hyped film Laal Singh Chaddha calling for its boycott. Amidst the trolling, an old video has now resurfaced on the internet in which the superstar is talking about the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits.

    View this post on Instagram
The clip is from an interview from 2016 in which he talked about the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits at length and called it ‘shameful’. In the throwback video, he is saying, "Jaise aapne Kashmiri Panditon ki baat ki, main aapko bata raha hoon, bahut hi sharmnaak baat hai. Hamare desh mein hamare rehte hue, kuch log hai jinko apne gharon se nikala gaya. Yeh bohut hi sharamnaak baat hai (Like you have spoken about Kashmiri Pandits, let me tell you that it is very shameful that people were thrown out of their homes while we living in our country. This is very shameful)".
The Ghajini star added, "Sabse zayda sharamnaak baat hai un logon ke liye jo wahan rehte hai. Unka yeh farz banta hai ki woh apne Kashmiri Pandit bhai ko apne ghar mein laake rakhein aur bolein ki hum aapko secure karenge. Kashmir ki sarkar ka Kashmir ke logon ka sabse pehla yeh farz banta hai (The most shameful thing was the people who were living there. It was their duty to bring their Kashmiri Pandit brothers to their house and tell them that they will secure them. It was prime duty of Kashmir’s government and Kashmiris who were residing there)".

We wonder how the trolls will react to it.

Talking about The Kashmir Files, the film stars Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumar among others in pivotal roles. Ever since its release, the critically-acclaimed movie is breaking several records at the box office and is all set to enter the Rs. 200 crore club.
