Recently, former stand up comedian turned Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann took to Twitter and announced that he is starting an anti-corruption helpline on Shaheed Diwas to make Punjab corruption-free.
Sharing Mann’s tweet, Kapil Sharma wrote, “so proud of you paji”.

    — Kapil Sharma (@KapilSharmaK9) March 23, 2022
Reacting to Kapil’s appreciation for Mann, a troll accused the ace comedian of buttering up the newly appointed CM to get a Rajya Sabha ticket. The troll also accused former cricketer Harbhajan Singh of the same.
    His response read, “हरभजन की तरह राज्यसभा के टिकट के लिए मक्खन लगा रहे हो क्या ।”
Kapil had a scathing response to the troll as he bashed him asking if he can arrange for a job for him. The comedian also added that he isn’t buttering up the CM but only hopes for the country to prosper.
    His tweet read, “बिलकुल नहीं मित्तल साहब, बस इतना सा ख़्वाब है कि देश तरक़्क़ी करे बाक़ी आप कहो तो आपकी नौकरी की लिए कहीं बात करूँ ?”

Soon after Kapil’s tweet, a lot of social media users wrote to him asking for a job.
One user wrote, “Bhaiya meri Naukari ki baat kar lo Paida se berojgar Baitha hun kam Kuchh Bhi Ho Paisa Achcha Milana chahie bus”.
Another wrote, “Kapil sir muhje job ki jarurat hai please job dila dijiye please sir”.
    One user requested, “पाजी नौकरी कि बात मेरे लिए कर लो,, बेरोजगारी वाले दुखभरे दिन चल रहे है”.

Anupam Kher later revealed in an interview that Kapil did invite him but he refused to go because the subject of The Kashmir Files isn’t suitable for a comedy show.

One of the biggest names of sports journalism in India, Vikrant Gupta is having a tough lead up to the 2022 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL)  on his own TV show where his guests and he himself have not been able to stop from making one major mistake after the other.
Vikrant Gupta said Mumbai Indians haven't won IPL title yet pic.twitter.com/nIWNOAriT3
    — iᴍ_Aʀʏᴀɴ18 (@crickohli18) March 23, 2022
In the middle of a conversation regarding the top-performing franchises in the Indian T20 league, Gupta wanted to talk about those sides that have never won a single title ever since the tournament’s inception in 2008. While the journalist did take the name of Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals, he also went on to say that Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians - the franchise with the most number of IPL championships (5 titles) - have also never won the trophy.
Mumbai Indians fans and fans of the game, in general, were stunned by the lack of preparation that went into coming up with the discussion and were absolutely ruthless in letting Gupta have it:

    — Rajjak khan (@Rajjak_official) March 24, 2022Earlier this week, yet another moment from his TV show went viral on social media in which all of his guests were talking about Gujarat’s cricketer and Saurashtra wicket-keeper batter, Sheldon Jackson as if he was an overseas player and that he will not be able to become a part of the Kolkata Knight Riders’ Playing XI if other international crickets like Sam Billings and Aaron Finch will also be included in the overseas-players quota.
This is height of comedy! The so called cricket experts on #SportsTak are continuously calling Sheldon Jackson a foreign player. Shame! pic.twitter.com/aNTPEbh3xX
    — راغب रागीब (@dr_raghib) March 22, 2022
And even though Gupta wasn’t the one referring to Jackson as a non-Indian player the fact that he quickly picked up his phone and completely detached himself from the entire conversation had people worried that even Gupta may not know where Sheldon Jackson was from.
The fans of the game also ended up giving him an earful for not intervening and clarifying to this panel of ‘cricket experts’ about Jackson’s origin in Bhavnagar, Gujarat and for not calling them out for assuming his ‘non-Indianness’  simply based on the way his name sounds.

    — Sheldon Jackson (@ShelJackson27) March 23, 2022
After the story spread like wildfire on Twitter, Jackson ended up retweeting a post shared by one of his fans who not only talks about all of his achievements as a domestic cricketer but also shared the screenshot of Google Maps in which Saurasthra can be seen.

Having assembled a solid bunch of players, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are all geared up for their inaugural season in the Indian Premier League (IPL). It’s their debut in the cash-rich league but still the expectations are very high as people expect them to perform as good as they did at the mega caution.
View this post on InstagramThe franchise’s biggest asset is their leader KL Rahul, who they picked in the pre auction draft for a whopping Rs 17 crore. Not just his leadership, the LSG fans and the management have also pinned their hopes on the stylish opener to breathe fire with the bat.
One of Indian cricket’s biggest ‘Giants’ & a giant part of India’s World Cup victory back in 2011.Welcoming aboard our Team Mentor Gautam Gambhir.@GautamGambhir #LucknowSuperGiants #IPL2022 #TATAIPL #IndianPremierLeague pic.twitter.com/c3qNatejFZ
    — Lucknow Super Giants (@LucknowIPL) March 10, 2022
Elaborating on what the franchise expects of their skipper, LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir says he wants a batter who can lead the side rather than a captain who can bat. In simple words, the former India opener said Rahul’s main role in the side would be of a batter and then a leader.
Gambhir feels it’s important for a leader to set an example through his own performance and motivate other players to do the same.
    View this post on Instagram
“Ultimately, it is the leader who is the flag-bearer of a team and so it’s Rahul who will lead Lucknow Super Giants on and off the field,” Gambhir told news agency PTI in an exclusive interview.
“For me, it is important to have KL Rahul the batter, who is also the captain of the team rather than KL Rahul, the captain, who also bats. I hope I am able to make you understand the difference,” he added.
View this post on InstagramThere is only one captain in the IPL who played solely on the basis of his leadership skills last year – MS Dhoni . The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper, who is in twilight years of his career, hasn’t been able to perform with the bat the way he would have liked to.
But he has made up for that with his brilliant decision-making. Even last year, while he was struggling to score runs, his decision-making was still top notch. It was one of the reasons why they were able to lift their fourth IPL trophy.
View this post on InstagramObviously, Gambhir didn’t take any names but you don’t need a scientist to understand what he really meant. It was quite evident that he was taking a dig at the CSK talisman while passing an advice to KL Rahul.
The former southpaw has been critical of Dhoni in the past but he remarks like these were totally uncalled for. I mean, he can’t decide the definition of an ideal leader.

This was not the first time that a movie has irked the sentiments of people by showing something that a section of society didn’t approve of. In fact, most people out there, rather than agreeing to disagree with a movie or its plot, would choose to throw a shit-fit or a full-blown riot, dissing a film and demanding it to be taken down.
But not the students of JNU, for even if they didn’t side with the depiction of their institute in the film ‘The Kashmir Files’, they stand strong on the belief that JNU still plays an important role as the building block of the nation.

This film is a tight slap in the face of all the so-called JNU "students", "poets" and "intellectuals".@vivekagnihotri @AnupamPKher pic.twitter.com/YMuNFoBI4l
    — Gourānga Nāth (@krishna_servant) March 23, 2022The character of Radhika Menon in The Kashmir Files movie, performed by Pallavi Joshi, is inspired by the JNU Professor Nivedita Menon, a well-known political scientist and author of the book Seeing Like a Feminist. Menon is a professor at the JNU. pic.twitter.com/FCk0FVzFRK
    — Anoop Menon (@anoopmenon_108) March 20, 2022Upset with how JNU was portrayed in the film The Kashmir Files where a professor from the Delhi University was supporting the Kashmiri separatists, students from JNU think that it was not everyone’s take on the Kashmiri Pandit matter, yet, they understand why the ideologies of such people need to be exposed.
It is really strange that India’s 2nd ranked university JNU is targeted in Kashmir Files movie from where we have got bright leaders like Nirmala Sitharaman & Jaishankar. Strange!
    — Sunderdeep - Volklub (@volklub) March 23, 2022The movie "The Kashmir Files" talks about the plight of the Kashmiri Pandits during their so-called "exodus" on & from 19 January, 1990.

But this movie also tries to misrepresent some true facts, defame JNU, blame some selective politicians and so on.#TheKashmiriFiles
    — Saptadip Chakraborty (@SapChak2003) March 16, 2022Siddhant, a student pursuing his PhD from JNU says, “Most of the students and faculty members at JNU, do not hold views that are opposed to national interests. Neither are they involved, in any way, with such divisive things." But when it comes to exploding people like Professor Menon, he thinks it's absolutely necessary to do so.
Another student Deepanshu from the university shared, “I have seen the film and such films should continue to be made. People of all communities should know how the Kashmiri pandits suffered in the Valley. We all feel that making such films has become even more important when the government has not taken adequate steps against the criminals."
To everyone alarmed at #KashmirFiles scenes where Pallavi Joshi’s character yells that India will be in “tukde tukde”, let me assure you that in my time at JNU not a single prof. ended or started or even mentioned anything about tukde tukde bits of India.

    — Apsara (@Indigen_Apsara) March 16, 2022He went on to say, “This is not an issue with this institution alone. JNU also gives back a lot to the country. We are everywhere in the country supporting and contributing towards nation-building. There is immense scope for positive debate among students studying here. Students have the freedom to speak, learn, understand and have a platform to voice their opinions."
Coming to the defence of the university was yet another student Sabarish who said, “JNU is just like any other university. There are obviously students and staff members with different views. But their controversial statements are only used to highlight this place as the citadel of divisiveness by filmmakers and journalists. The university has also been imparting quality education for decades now. It is one of the top universities in the country."

Regardless of what critics from all over the world say, the Indian Premier League is still the most successful and lucrative T20 league. The level of competition, the dedicated fans and the entire atmosphere that surrounds the players who take part in the tournament is an experience in itself and there is no other place in the world that they would get to see something remotely similar.
However, while the perks of the tournament are excellent, the IPL also somehow manages to bring out the worst in some of the “passionate fans” of the game in India. At the moment, we are in the “excitement” phase of the tournament.

People are tweeting about the new jerseys, the two new franchises, the major shakeup that took place during the mega auction back in February and looking forward to how these newly-formed squads will play against each other.
We are talking about the kind of sponsorship records that the BCCI have broken and the amount of money even the youngsters are earning for playing just a couple of months of T20 cricket.

But within a couple of days, when the matches begin and some of the biggest names of the game from all over the world fail to meet the expectations of their followers, that is when the real toxicity steps in and spreads all over the internet like wildfire.
Some of the most well-respected cricketers and proven legends of the game are suddenly stripped down to troll-worthy nicknames, all their achievements of the past washed down the drain.
4 din bad Dhoni buddha, Rohit mota or Virat choker ho jayega.
    — Savage (@arcomedys) March 22, 2022
MS Dhoni becomes a ‘40 saal ka buddha’, Rohit Sharma becomes ‘mota vada pav’ and Virat Kohli becomes ‘chokli’ and ‘choker’. One of the biggest reasons behind such a dramatic change in people’s output during the IPL is the sense of unaccountability that comes along with the sheer number of people spewing such toxicity online. How many people can the cricketers single out and defend themselves against, and that too for getting out on 0 in one IPL match?
Twitter user @arcomedys brilliantly encapsulated the way everything changes online within a couple of days as soon as the IPL begins and the rest of the fans of Indian cricket seem to agree with him:

With The Kashmir Files hitting Rs 200 crore, Mithun Chakraborty has now beaten the combined box office might of Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh.
This isn’t all, The Kashmir Files has now also become the highest-grossing Hindi film since the first lockdown of 2020.
In fact, it is the second highest-grossing film of the last two years. The only film that did more than The Kashmir Files was Ajay Devgn and Saif Ali Khan starrer Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior but that was a pre-pandemic release.
Released on March 11, The Kashmir Files thrashed big-budget films like Radhe Shyam and Bachchhan Paandey featuring the biggest of superstars like Prabhas and Akshay Kumar, respectively.

While Radhe Shyam couldn’t even go past the Rs 20 crore mark in Hindi, Bachchhan Paandey is expected to end its run below Rs 50 crore.

Besides Mithun Chakraborty, The Kashmir Files stars Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar and Pallavi Joshi.

In all forms, Rohit Sharma has replaced Virat Kohli as India's captain, although given that the opener is already 34 years old, he is expected to be replaced by a younger player in the coming years.
According to former India head coach Ravi Shastri, the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) could provide a solid indication of who could be India's next long-term captain. In all forms, Rohit Sharma has replaced Virat Kohli as India's captain, although given that the opener is already 34 years old, he is projected to be replaced by a younger player in the coming years.
    View this post on Instagram
In a conversation with ESPNCricinfo, Shastri was rather candid about how the present Indian skipper is not growing any younger and neither is the former captain, Virat Kohli. They'll have to look at who might be the captain two, three years down the road, according to Shastri.
Since the BCCI wanted to have one captain for white-ball cricket, Kohli was fired as India's ODI captain after resigning as T20I captain before the 2021 World Cup. After India's loss in South Africa this year, he stepped aside as Test captain, and Rohit took over in all three areas of international cricket.
    View this post on Instagram
Shastri added he will be keeping an eye on Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, and Hardik Pandya, who are all leading Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders and Gujarat Titans, respectively in the upcoming season of India’s famed T20 league.
The former Team India head coach further states that he will also be keeping an eye out for the captain of the second new franchise in IPL 2022 - KL Rahul, who has been trusted by the Lucknow Supergiants to take the leadership role and make an impactful debut season for the team in the IPL.
    View this post on Instagram
While these are some promising names, both Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer showed immense capabilities as the successive captains of Delhi Capitals over the last three IPL seasons.
Due to the lingering health issues, the world is yet to see Hardik Pandya perform at a high level over the last couple of years as an all-rounder, and maybe then the conversations about him being the future captain of the Men in Blue can be taken more seriously.
    View this post on Instagram
And while KL Rahul was entrusted with the role to lead Team India in three-match ODI series against South Africa, followed by the second Test against the Protea, the squad ended up losing all of them, thereby negatively impacting Rahul’s case as the next full-time captain of Team India.
The IPL 2022 season kicks off on March 26 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, with Mahendra Singh Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings butting heads against Shreyas Iyer's Kolkata Knight Riders.
