Former India head coach Ravi Shastri is all set to make his comeback behind the microphone after more than five years. Before becoming Team India head coach in 2017, the former India all-rounder had a stellar career as a television broadcaster and he was widely regarded as one of the best in the business, not just in India but across the globe.
Good one @nassercricket. Your #TracerBulletChallenge did get Mr. Shastri impressed pic.twitter.com/klgqo2rqfB
— BCCI (@BCCI) November 23, 2016
From the 2007 World T20 final against Pakistan to the 2011 ODI World Cup summit clash against Sri Lanka, Shastri was behind the microphone when the Men in Blue dealt the final blow to the opposition and became the world champions.
"IN THE AIRRRRRRR.... SREESANTH TAKES IT. INDIA WIN!"#OnThisDay | : BCCIpic.twitter.com/1oEOUGwknq
— Cricbuzz (@cricbuzz) September 24, 2019
“...In the air, Sreesanth takes it” or “...Dhoni finishes off in style”, these two sentences still fresh in the minds of every Indian cricket fan and give most of us goosebumps everytime we hear them.
His stellar voice had been synonymous with Indian cricket for many years but it all stopped when he joined the Indian dressing room. In a few days’ time, Shastri’ magical voice will once again echo in our ears and the fans are pretty thrilled about it.

Shastri never intended to be away from the comm box for so many years but he was forced into doing so by a “stupid conflict of interest cluause in the BCCI’s “stupid constitution”.
Ahead of his much-awaited return behind the microphone, the 59-year-old expressed his views on the same during an interaction with IPL’s host broadcasters Star Sports.
© Reuters
He said: “It is refreshing to be back on TV. For me, IPL is about the quality of cricket and to be back behind the mic and watch it in close quarters is exciting.”
The former India all-rounder then went on to explain the reason why he had to distance himself from the commentary gigs in the last five years.
“Could not commentate for five years due to a stupid conflict of interest clause in a stupid constitution,” he explaiend.
© Reuters
The BCCI’s new constitution, drafted on the recommendations made by the Supreme Court appointed Justice RM Lodha panel, bars all individuals from acquiring two or more roles at the same time under the BCCI’s ambit.
And that is why Shastri, despite having plenty of free time during the IPL, couldn’t sign up for any commentary assignments. The reason why it fell under the conflict of interest clause was because, unlike other nations, in India the names of the commentators are finalised by the BCCI itself.

Alongside Shastri, another high-profile name who will be seen lending his voice to the IPL 2022 matches is former CSK cricketer Suresh Raina.

Ravi Shastri will be back in the commentary box after over five years and he is making his return from the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). While Shastri will be making a comeback, another former India all-rounder Suresh Raina is set to make his debut behind the mic in IPL 2022.
Host broadcaster Star Sports confirmed the appointment of the duo on Tuesday (March 22) on social media. Shastri and Raina then addressed a conference where they answered a few media queries.

The former India head coach while answering questions from the media made a bold claim about Hardik Pandya that left fans divided on social media.
Shastri said that all eyes will be on the Gujarat Titans captain in the 15th edition of the cash-rich league and if he manages to put in a fine show, it will benefit Indian cricket.

"The entire country will be watching Hardik Pandya very closely. And he is a match winner and if he can bring all three aspects of the game together then it will be a huge boost for the Indian team," Ravi Shastri said.
While some fans agreed with the former head coach, others expressed their reservations on Twitter.
Yes definitely , Since T20 world cup is in Australia no one can forget that series of India vs Australia (away your) where he batted like
— Mee23(back up acc.) (@mee23_1) March 22, 2022But he don't want to play international cricket
— Professor samuel oak (@prof_oak123) March 22, 2022True. Though everyone criticised hardik for his form in WC but deep down everyone want him to be back in his old rhythm. If hardik is back it will be a treat for Indian fans. Fingers crossed for him.
— Krishna (@krishna200129) March 22, 2022No need of that fraud. Only plays in ipl and remains injured for 8-9 months. Both V iyer and jadeja are doing well at that no anyway

— Sharon Solomon (@BSharan_6) March 22, 2022Hardik, who last played competitive cricket back in November last year, was roped in by one of the new IPL franchises -- Gujarat Titans ahead of the IPL 2022.
The 28-year-old all-rounder has played over 90 IPL games for Mumbai Indians since making his debut back in 2015. The five-time IPL champions did not retain the all-rounder ahead of the auction and he will be looking to prove a point by putting in a strong performance.

Hardik has already cleared the fitness test at the NCA and reportedly started bowling at full tilt as well which is an encouraging sign for Indian fans. With the T20 World Cup coming up later this year, a fit and in-form Hardik Pandya will increase India's chances of ending the 15-year wait for the T20 world title.

As Swami Sivananda walked barefoot inside the Durbar Hall to receive his Padma Shri award and then bowed down to prostrate in front of the dignitaries, there was no way to tell that this man, though old, is actually 125 years old. Before we get into more details, take a look at the video of him getting the award from the President.

Swami Sivananda is from Kashi, and he 'made the very important decision of how to live his life' at the age of six, after losing his parents. He was born in 1896 in the Sylhet district of undivided India.

— Bharatbala Ganapathy (@bharatbala) March 21, 2022
He went on to become a Yoga luminary in the country, and practices 'simple living' in the truest sense of the term. Swami Sivananda has always said he eats very simple food that is oil-free and without spices. He prefers eating rice and boiled daal (lentil stew). He also abstains from taking milk or fruits because he thinks they are fancy foods. "I lead a simple and disciplined life. I eat very simply -- only boiled food without oil or spices, rice and boiled daal (lentil stew) with a couple of green chilies," he had told news agency AFP back in 2016.
His healthy and long life has garnered attention from across the globe, especially after being a vocal supporter of Covid-19 vaccination after himself getting vaccinated at the age of 125 years. He has been honoured with several prestigious awards, including the Yoga Ratna Award and the Basundhara Ratan Award by Respect Age International for his contribution to the society, before the Padma Shri.
Here is how Twitter responded:

China, as people say, is famous for making about anything and everything in the world. Whether it is a good, a service or even a life-threatening pandemic evoking virus, there is hardly anything that China doesn’t make. And adding to that long list is an item that has left me astounded and honestly, a tad bit worried.
I am talking about this automatic ‘sperm collector’ that apparently helps in extracting semen from donors in a hospital, who are reluctant to masturbate.
A Chinese company says its automatic sperm extractor is helping clinics collect semen from donors reluctant to masturbate in a hospital setting. pic.twitter.com/zBqf4wWVQi
— ManSitChoAzzDown (@AngryManTV) April 5, 2019
A discovery that has made me question the reality we live in now, the device is a standing machine with a feature to stroke, suck and massage the ***** until it finally cums and the machine can collect the semen. And whether the purpose was to battle laziness or simply make an equivalent to the dildo for women , we know not of.
What was even more surprising was the fact that the tweet by user @AngryManTV that posted the video of the device whirring and oscillating, even shared a link to the Alibaba website from where people can buy the product for approximately $4,999 to $5,999.00.
they can just put these in public bathrooms and call it a day
— andie basto (@AndieIsOnline) April 5, 2019We've all got a friend like this guy, whose very first instinct is to walk up to it and stick his finger in there.
— The Panic (@Gunntwitt) April 8, 2019How do they sanitize this thing in between use?
— Blade Brown (@brodefi) April 6, 2019The Alibaba listing describes the blowjob machine as something that can, “simulate vaginal environment, and through massage, twitching, sucking, vibration, etc., act upon the human *****, which can make semen collection be fast and safe." However, looking at the not-so-subtle strokes by the machine in the video, we wonder just how the sensation must feel like on a man’s person.
However, to make the experience all the more comfortable, the device offers users an option to adjust the frequency, motion journey and speed of the electronic blowjob.
Who needs Teanna Trump when you can have one of these? pic.twitter.com/x9HA71KWAF
— ManSitChoAzzDown (@AngryManTV) April 5, 2019I’d like to see the Venn diagram that shows the donors who are “reluctant to masturbate in a hospital setting” - but willing to stick their dicks into that hungry machine.
— Brian Malow (@sciencecomedian) April 9, 2019The experience is explained as, “The strong currents impact and rub the glans ***** repeatedly in order to reduce the excitability of nerve endings so as to passivate the nerve of glans *****, sulcus coronarius, and the surface of the *****, and regulate the *** nerve centre in order to minimise nerve sensitivity, improve ejaculatory threshold to treat premature ejaculation."
And on the Display you can watch your favorite Porn.
— Randy-Thomas Christensen (@RTC2568) April 10, 2019
Meanwhile, people on twitter who came across this state of the art solution for all lazy masturbators out there, are dropping comments like, “And on display you can watch your favorite porn”.
if they're nervous about jacking off in a hospital I don't understand how a *** Podium is supposed to help
— Alicia Demon Goddess of Lust (@Flailmorpho_) April 9, 2019
Another user wondered, “I’d like to see the Venn diagram that shows the donors who are “reluctant to masturbate in a hospital setting” - but willing to stick their dicks into that hungry machine.” Calling the machine a ‘*** podium’, several people are interested in finding out how well does it guarantee a ‘happy ending’.
How long til someone tries to marry one
— An Online Snail (@online_snail) April 9, 2019
A lot of people also were curious as to what they would do with their hands as they’d receive an automatic hand/blow job and others questioned how the machine would even be cleaned. With about a hundred different reactions from people, this Chinese invention was inevitably the most hard-hitting one we’ve seen so far. Pun intended.

Akshay Kumar is a hit machine and why not, the guy works round the clock, throughout the year and is one of the highest tax payers of the country. While he’s known to have a Midas touch for his movies, a lot of them are mass entertainers because they are either inspired or remade from another big hit. Here are 5 movies which were a remake of South Indian hits:
1. Hera PheriThis blockbuster is a remake of a Priyadarshan movie titled Ramji Rao Speaking. This comedy features Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, and Tabu in lead roles.

Mithun Chakraborty made his acting debut with 1976 Bengali film Mrigya for which he won the National Film Award for Best Actor. He later joined the Hindi film industry and starred in several popular films like Suraksha where he played the character of spy Gunmaster G9, its sequel Wardat and the critically acclaimed Hum Paanch.
However, it was the 1982 film Disco Dancer that catapulted him to stardom not only in India but also overseas. The B Subhash directorial featured a chartbuster soundtrack and was a rage in several parts of the world particularly in the Soviet Union where it became the highest grossing foreign film.
The film turned out to be the first blockbuster of Mithun’s career and made him an overnight sensation.
© B Subhash Movie Unit
Post Disco Dancer, Mithun delivered several other massive hits like Jagir, Pyar Jhukta Nahin, Ghulami and Kasam Paida Karne Waale Ki.
In the ‘90s, Mithun started focusing more on his Hotel business in Ooty and mostly starred in B-grade films that he’d shoot in and around his hotel. These films were low budget and often turned out profitable at the box office.
By mid-’00s, he transformed into a character actor and starred in films like Veer, Kick, Boss, Chandni Chowk To China etc. But, he wasn’t the lead character in any of those films.
In recent years, he wasn’t seen much on-screen but in 2022, the unthinkable happened.
The yesteryear superstar starred in Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files. The film turned out to be a box office phenomenon and became a huge blockbuster on course to go past Rs 200 crore in India alone.
© Zee Studios
With the blockbuster success of The Kashmir Files, Mithun Chakraborty created a unique box office record of delivering blockbusters 40 years apart. His first being in 1982 and his latest in 2022.
There have been other more successful actors than him who have been doing well in their second innings but none own the record of having blockbusters to their names for such a long span of time being a lead actor.

Whoever says height doesn’t matter is probably lying to you. According to the report ‘The Effect of Adolescent Experience on Labor Market Outcomes: The Case of Height’ published by a group of economics professors from the University of Pennsylvania, shorter men are likely to earn 13% lesser than their taller peers.
While dating trends might be changing gradually, based on anecdotal evidence shorter men tend to be favored less by women, who traditionally go for men of the taller variety.
Globally the average for mens’ height varies from region to region, with the average Indian man standing 5.8 feet tall (177 cm) while their American counterparts tower over them by a measly inch.
Why are we talking so much about mens’ heights?
© Eros Worldwide
Well because it seems like even Bollywood’s macho-est of actors, Salman Khan, isn’t impervious to the effects of being on the shorter scale of things. A quick Google search will tell you that his official height remains a bit of a mystery, with figures being quoted anywhere from 5.8 feet tall to 5.5 feet.
Over the years, he’s rarely been sported without his signature chunky shoes that he wears for all public affairs. And it looks like sometimes, despite affording him an extra couple of vertical inches, even that may not suffice for him.
In a tweet that has been going viral, Salman bhai can be seen standing next to Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi (who himself is close to 5.8 feet in height based on publicly available figures), and another elderly man. Absolutely normal, right? Well, not entirely. A Twitter user called ‘Just A Fan.’ shared a zoomed-in version of the same photo, where it shows that bhai may have been sneakily standing on his toes, so as to elevate himself for the picture.
Here’s the post for you to see:
Salman Khan overcoming his Height! pic.twitter.com/NPocb2vtpj
— JUST A FAN. (@iamsrk_brk) March 21, 2022
Twitter users have obviously been having a field day. This user commented, “is he short? I've never noticed... he always seemed tall to me”.While a second one noted the universality of this feeling, “Even They Wear Big Heel shoes to look Taller.”A third, more empathetic user shared their opinion, “There is nothing wrong with being short, the bad thing is feeling self-conscious about it so that all your shoes have 10cm soles that help you look tall”
Needless to say, there’s nothing wrong with men being short. Sometimes it’s just that the insecurities we’re raised with take a lot longer to leave our side.
Here’s hoping to see Salman Khan ditch his platform shoes and accept himself in a pair of flats

Shubman Gill will be seen playing for Gujarat Titans in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier Legaue (IPL) after representing Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for four seasons. Gill caught everyone's attention thanks to his prolific batting in the 2017-18 Under-19 World Cup where he scored 372 runs in five innings. The performance landed him an IPL contract with two-time champions KKR.
During his stay at the Kolkata-based franchise, Gill played 58 IPL games and scored 1417 runs with the help of 10 half-centuries but his strike-rate always remained a matter of concern for KKR fans.
Lowest Strike Rate in last 2 IPL seasons:-
[min. 700 runs]

120: Virat Kohli
122: Rishabh Pant
125: Devdutt Padikkal

— ComeOn Cricket (@ComeOnCricket) February 2, 2022
Gill got all those runs at a strike-rate of 123 while other teams benefited from their openers providing them explosive start at the top of the innings.
Renowned as one of the most technically sound batters amongst the young lot, Gill has worked on a few new shots which he promises to exhibit at the 15th edition of the IPL.
You might see few cheeky shots in IPL: Shubman Gill pic.twitter.com/w3VpUv0b2W
— sports news (@CricketDeDaNaDa) March 21, 2022
Gill was away from international cricket for months due to injury and during his time at the National Cricket Academy, he said he has improved his game which will allow him to play according to the situation the team demands from him.
"There isn't a particular reason. It's just that I back my strengths to be able to hit the bowler over his head rather than trying to be cheeky. But yes, as a player, I should be capable of playing any shot in the book and on some particular wickets, it's difficult to hit bowlers down the ground. As a player, I am trying to learn more shots and how to be able to play all over the ground. You might see me play some cheeky shots in this IPL," Gill was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
While Gill was boasting about his new shots, fans took a dig at his strike-rate and urged him to focus on that if he wants to be back in the race for a place in the Indian team.

— Jyoti Ranjan Rout (@j2rforever) March 22, 2022 Gill also added that he is hoping to have a great season with Gujarat Titans and that will allow him to put his name in contention for a spot in the Indian team for the upcoming T20 World Cup, set to be played in Australia later this year.
"If we (GT) go on to play the play-offs and reach the final, I might get a chance to play for India in WT20," he added.

While there is a tough competition at the top of the order in the Indian T20 team with captain Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul favourites to open the innings and Ishan Kishan also in the squad but you cannot rule out anything in Indian cricket and a good season with the bat for Gill may land him in Australia, representing the country in the marquee tournament.

Starting this weekend, cricket fans all over the globe would have their evenings sorted. Billions of fans will flock to their television screens to watch their favourite cricketers participate in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
With the addition of two new franchises and the fact the entire tournament will be played in India itself after two years, the BCCI and the host broadcasters hope that the tournament creates new viewership records.
© IPL Trophy
In the last 15 years, the IPL has established itself as the most important cricket competition on a cricket calendar. Since its inception, the lucrative league has gone from strength to strength.
In a short span of time, the tournament has become the fourth most expensive sports league in the world, in terms of per match broadcasting rights.

From the franchises to the players to the host broadcasters to the BCCI, everyone has filled up their coffers, thanks to this tournament. Many people think that all the stakeholders have been so busy amassing money that they have stopped caring about the most important entity – the supporters.
There will be no opening ceremony in the IPL for the 4th consecutive years.
— Mufaddal Vohra (@mufaddal_vohra) March 22, 2022
If reports are to be believed, the BCCI has once again decided to do away with the opening ceremony ahead of the season’s opening encounter between defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and the decision has evoked mixed reaction on social media.

People who consider ceremonies like these to be a waste of money lauded the Sourav Ganguly-led cricket board for making the right call. But the majority of the supporters lashed out at the BCCI for killing the fun and not doing enough to make the tournament more appealing.

For more than a decade, the IPL kick-started with the opening ceremonies but the BCCI decided to do away with it in the 2019 edition. This year will be the fourth year in a row when the IPL begins without any glittering ceremony.

We can't do anything
— Aniket Chauhan (@imAniket_18_) March 22, 2022Some people argue in favour of the BCCI, saying that the organisers have made the right call and instead of organising a silly ceremony they must utilise this money to support a better cause.
To counter that, I would say that the BCCI makes enough money from the IPL that it doesn’t have to do cost-cutting in order to lend its support to a noble cause. It can afford to do both. After all, it’s the richest cricket board in the world.

From Olympics to football World Cups, the opening and closing ceremonies are one of the highlights of any major sporting event.
In fact, for many people the grandeur of these ceremonies is what determines how big the event is. By doing away with these ceremonies, in my opinion, the BCCI is doing itself more harm than good.

Vivek Agnihotri’s ‘The Kashmir Files’ has been breaking records since its release. Having comfortably crossed the Rs 100 crore mark by its 8th day, the film can be declared an unexpected success, considering it was made on a relatively paltry Rs 25 crores budget. The movie follows the story of Kashmiri Pandits who experienced atrocities that resulted in their mass exodus from the Valley in the 1990s.

While the film brings to light many uncomfortable conversations for the public at large, from allegations of distortion of reality, to subtly kindling Islamophobia among its viewers, it has also raised the issue of helping the Kashmiri Pandits who still suffer from the ordeals faced by the previous generations.
With the box-office collections of ‘The Kashmir Files’ touted to have comfortably crossed Rs 150 crores, an MP & IAS officer from Madhya Pradesh named Niyaz Khan took to Twitter with a request bound to make the makers of the film sweat. Khan urged the producers of the film to donate all the proceeds from its success for the education of the kids coming from Kashmiri Pandit families and help build houses for them in Kashmir.
Kashmir File shows the pain of Brahmins. They should be allowed to live safely in Kashmir with all honour. The producer must also make a movie to show the killings of Large number of Muslims across several states. Muslims are not insects but human beings and citizens of country

In his tweet, Niyaz Khan said, “Income of Kashmir Files reached 150 crore. Great. People have given a lot of respect for Kashmiri Brahmins' feelings. I would respect film producer to transfer all earnings to the Brahmin children's education and construction of homes for them in Kashmir. It will be a great charity”
Sir Niyaz Khaan Sahab, Bhopal aa raha hoon 25th ko. Please give an appointment so we can meet and exchange ideas how we can help and how you can help with the royalty of your books and your power as an IAS officer. https://t.co/9P3oif8nfL

Director of ‘The Kashmir Files’, Vivek Agnihotri, promptly responded to Khan’s tweet, requesting for an in-person meeting with the official in order to better discuss the ideas to help the cause. He wrote, “Please give an appointment so we can meet and exchange ideas how we can help and how you can help with the royalty of your books and your power as an IAS officer.”
Do you think the Member of Parliament and IAS officer, Niyaz Khan is right to urge the makers of ‘The Kashmir Files’ to donate their collections to a greater cause? Let us know in the comments.
